A U.S. appeals court rejected a bid by President Biden’s son, Hunter, to dismiss federal gun charges against him brought by special counsel David Weiss, allowing a trial to move forward next month. Hunter Biden was indicted on three felony charges related to his purchase of a Colt Cobra 388PL revolver in 2018 and lying about his drug use on a federal form. CBS News has more.

That's right. A #Wyoming wolf was hit by a #hunter, disabled, duct taped, dragged around town, and paraded around a bar before meeting a cruel death: Getting shot out back.
And the punishment for this cruel capture and killing? Just a $250 fine for possessing live wildlife.
Imagine, hearing the noise of an engine far away. You and your #pack are on edge as the engine revs closer. You begin to run, but you can't outrun a #hunter who hits you with his snowmobile.
What happened next, I can't even ask you to imagine. This poor #GrayWolf was captured, red duct tape wrapped tightly around her snout. She was thrown into a strange car, driven to her soon-to-be killer's home.
But there's another stop: She was taken to a #bar in #Wyoming,
A #GrayWolf killed in a January #coyote hunt in #Michigan's southern Lower Peninsula; #DNR investigating how it got there.
The harvest was potentially the 1st time a gray wolf has been identified in the Lower Peninsula since the species was wiped out driven to [#extinction] from the state in the early 20th century, MI Dept of #NaturalResources said.
The #Michigan#hunter who harvested the #wolf reported harvesting "a large animal," the #DNR said in a Tues press release. Genetic tests confirmed the animal was a #GrayWolf.
The hunter was participating in a legal #CoyoteHunt & was accompanied by a guide. He said he believed the animal to be a large #coyote. The wolf weighed 84 lbs [that’d be a huge coyote], while Eastern coyotes typically weigh 25-40 lbs, the DNR said.

The House GOP wants to gut the EPA, cutting the budget by 40%. Are you a #hunter or into #Fishing ? Without the EPA, there would be no fish in most US waterways, and no ducks in our flyways. EPA rules are the reason game meat is mostly safe to eat, and game animals exist. In the 1960s, most of our large rivers (and many of our other waterways) had no fish, and toxic levels of cancer-causing or poisonous industrial chemicals. There is no #hunting or #fishing without a strong EPA.

The inquiry kicks off this week w/a Thurs hearing before the #HouseOversight Cmte, which is chaired by (#House#Republican) James #Comer. The hearing’s aim is not to present #evidence that bolsters the central allegation — in part because it’s not clear what the central allegation is.
#HouseSpeaker#KevinMcCarthy’s public announcement about the inquiry included a half-dozen assertions of potentially dubious activity, several of which involved only Biden’s son #Hunter & one of which was explicitly #false.
So the first hearing in the #Biden inquiry will instead attempt to establish the #rationale for the #inquiry itself. That’s the #Oversight Cmte’s presentation, not mine; the hearing is titled, “The Basis for an Impeachment Inquiry of President Joseph R. Biden, Jr.”
