Okay, #Godzilla fans... should you wait to watch #GodzillaxKong until AFTER S02 of #MonarchLegacy comes out? People tell me I need to see Monarch: Legacy of Monsters first, but should I wait to see Godzilla x Kong till after?
Stupid question, I know but they're seriously telling me to wait!
Went down a rabbit hole just now with amazing pinball machines that started with the John Wick one at this first link, and then the Godzilla and Labyrinth ones at the other links 🤯
Godzilla Minus One, the highly anticipated kaiju film from director Takashi Yamazaki, has finally arrived, and it's a monster hit. Premiering on December 1,
I love cheesy monster movies and will happily have a beer and watch #Godzilla smash up cities for a couple hours.
The bar is pretty low for what I think is worth my time, but the newest Godzilla + King Kong movie is unbelievably bad. Embarrassingly bad.
I can suspend disbelief for a while and accept nuclear dinosaurs coming out of the ocean and causing a ruckus. I can even suspend disbelief for a world where, like one of those creationist dinosaur theme parks, monkeys and dinosaurs exist simultaneously and spend a couple of hours beating each other up.
But giant monkeys and nuclear dinosaurs beating each other up then teaming up to protect magical telepathic humans who live in the center of the Earth, which somehow has sunshine, from malevolent giant monkeys who also live in the center of the Earth next to a volcano is... IDK, stupid?
Was this supposed to be a comedy? Did I miss something? But, hey, the scientist/main character is really fucking hot, so there's that I guess?
Really liked the #GodzillaMinusOne panel at #WonderCon on Saturday. I love me a stomp around monster movie, but even more is when I've been able to attend panels that discuss the real-life reasons for #Godzilla on screen. Some of the panelists also discussed some of the horrific things that were done to people when testing various bombs. Using people as unwitting lab rats - how more inhuman can you be? It really puts Godzilla in a very different light when you know the trauma that produced him.
