It's not easy to pull off the build ups, breakdowns and transitions that mark a fully produced track in the #modular realm, so seeing someone (@synkr3tyk) do it is a bit like watching a rock guitarist shred an intense, technical solo: impressive, if nothing else. When the tune is a tight little #electro workout with a girthy bass, minimal #breakbeats and a sharp synth lead, all the better. Throw in some distorted samples and wooshy sweeps for seasoning, and enjoy!
A year ago I started a little personal #Fedi project to every week share #newRelease music + a variety of other tracks from all sorts of eras & genres too.
I called it #BearTracks for my own humour & just to sort of see what I was doing.
It's over 500 tracks now. Lots of good music, quite a bit you might not have heard.
As promised, here's the video for track 1 of my #DAWlessJams1 EP, originally recorded for #808day.
It features a cough Behringer TD-3 on squeals, my beloved Grandstand Talking Computer on vocals, Elektron Model:Samples on drum duties and a beautifully unpredictable Yamaha E1010 analogue delay on FX duties.
It's time for the video for track 4 on my #DAWlessJams1 EP.
This one was recorded in Germany with a slightly different and more limited setup- just what I could fit into a suitcase, plus my dad's old multitrack as a mixer and a Yamaha RX11 drum machine he got second hand in '89 or so.
You know the score by now, trailer below, full vid+info at
Here's the long overdue video for track 5 on my #DAWlessJams1 EP, entitled Werk It (it was my first proper Moog Werkstatt track).
It also features a #Teensy as a serial to USB host MIDI converter, so I could use my JP8000's arpeggiator with the Werkstatt (via an Arturia Beatstep as MIDI to CV converter) and a weird DSP Effects unit from China.
Don't let my streak end! It's been ~350 days since the last time I had a zero stream day... Just two weeks until I make it a year! But I haven't had one today, so maybe go #listen to some of my weird psychotronic #electro#dub weirdness? Even a single listen to a single song would keep the streak alive...
