Can anyone explain in non-techy terms how to switch which domain is my main domain please?
My hosting is through Verpex. The domain linked to the hosting I want to keep for a little while but I want my new domain (AlexisBushnell.com) to be linked to the hosting, so when you go to AlexisBushnell.com it brings up my website.
I do not want to redirect - I want the new domain to be the actual domain.
Injection happens in the index.html. I haven't seen the others use a src base64 script. It reaches out to this domain and evaluates whatever is returned.
My biggest takeaway so far beyond the DNS crap which is not Tutantoa-specific, is that their clients and their website are not great. The lack of right-click support for actions is a huge issue. It means I have to go the entire length of the interface to move, archive and delete.
The mobile client is slow, it fetches a notification that you have an email but doesn't load the email until you open the app, so you have to wait.
@thelinuxcast big ooof, if you’re looking for #email#hosting, I suggest using a web hosting company that’s local. And buy a #domain plus email packet, shouldn’t be more expensive than 2€/month
(Domain¹ can now deploy any Small Web app written in Kitten² when you give it its git URL.)
There’s still a lot I have to build, including automatic updates of deployed Small Web places. But we’re getting there one baby step at a time :)
(If you’re wondering what this “Small Web” thing I keep referring to is, it’s a peer-to-peer Web of places owned and controlled by individuals… currently under development.)
So, hands up who else does this: adding custom debuggers to your interfaces for testing them out?
It’s a little habit I picked up decades ago during the Flash days and it’s as useful now. (Found and fixed at least two bugs after implementing this simple one today.)
Trying to verify my domain on Bluesky, following their instructions for using a txt record. It keeps failing. I do this quite a bit an am comfortable with dns, and this is unusual. Below is what the record looks like on GoDaddy. (Weirdly, the txt record also doesn't seem to be propagating as fast as dns records usually do). Any ideas anyone? #bluesky#domain#verification#dns
It seems I can email everyone just fine except folks with Gmail accounts. Please stop using Google...like, entirely. Nothing good can come of it! #DeGoogle
Okay this is getting ridiculous now. My own innocuous little domain email (which ironically years ago integrated with Gmail) is still wholesale blocked by every single #Gmail account I email, so within #ProtonMail I have to switch to an alias with a standard ProtonMail email address to get it through. Apart from constantly screaming into the void that people don't use #Google, does anyone have any ideas on sorting this so I can get my emails to go through? #email#emails#Proton#domain
I needed a pick-me-up so I took a break from the back-end stuff to make a logo for Domain¹ :)
(The main page for public instances will have a very different design before launch – one based on the prototype we created while working with the City of Ghent a few years ago.)
Dear #friends, I want to #verify the #domain#technotramp.com in the fediverse environment, but due to #IPFS where I can't #change the #content (to avoid changing the IPFS #address), I'm not comfortable with the #way the #html#code is inserted. I am looking for a way to verify the domain using a #TXT record. Exactly what was discussed half a #year ago for example #here:
¿Me pueden recomendar un registrar que no sea maloso como godaddy? Que no sea caro, que use software libre, que propugne las causas populares, etc. #registrar#dns#infraestructura#host#domain
Understand elon was put there to dismantle twitter, the more sense everything he does makes.
Owners are: Qatar, China, Saudis & Alwaleed bin Talal with a 5.7% ownership, Oracle’s Larry Ellison (3.0%), Jack Dorsey (3.0%), Sequoia Capital (2.4%), and Vy Capital (2.1%) and several banks loaned to elon.
Tippfehler: Mails fürs US-Militär gingen an Mali-Domain
Ein fehlender Buchstabe ließ zig E-Mails für das US-Militär beim Betreiber der Top-Level-Domain von Mali landen. Dabei wäre das Problem leicht zu lösen gewesen.
Verisign appears to be getting out of the new gTLD back-end registry services business, with Identity Digital taking over most of its dot-brand contracts....
Kind of regretting getting a #domain name with a .llc TLD because it seems like it takes DNS updates a lot longer to propagate on obscure TLDs? Is that true or am I making stuff up? #DNS
So... dear People, I may be #Blocking the #Universeodon domain, again. (the Instance's Perspectives rub me wrong). Problem is, these three People are on that instance, and I will miss them: @DeerWhispers @dalfen @LadyDragonfly
Also, @georgetakei is there, too; which also really sucks in this sense (see my thoughts on the Japanese-American Internment).
I am not asking anyone to move for my Preferences. But, it would be Really Cool if a #Fork of #Mastodon or #Calckey had the ability to #Block a #Domain but add exceptions. If this exists, then I do not know about it. Anyone?
Got #Kitten’s¹ secret generation working in the browser as part of the last piece of the puzzle I’m working on right now for deploying #SmallWeb² places via #Domain³.
Your secret is the key to your identity on the Small Web (or at least to some aspect of your identity you wish to portray or explore at a given Small Web place). It’s an ed25519 private key base256 encoded and presented using a well-known set of emoji.
