Speaking of #cat#crimes--a cautionary tale:
Wife brings home the Thing. Puts it on the kitchen table.
Later, the Cat gets bored and jumps on the table. Finds the Thing (amongst other things) and does what cats do: knocks the Thing off the table.
The #Dog, of course, is waiting. They work together at times like this. She picks up the Thing and retreats to the couch. Gnaws the box open. Gnaws what's inside apart. Spills the stuff inside the Thing all over...
... And eats two and a half bits.
The Thing?
A fresh bottle of #Aleve. Naproxen sodium. #Poison. Enough to wreck a #dog's stomach, kidneys, and nervous system. Just like that.
I find the mess. Know that the day has gone horribly sideways. We count the pills left. Desperately search for the missing two plus. No good.
She's at the vet hospital now, since yesterday. Drugs to protect her stomach. Activated charcoal to soak up as much of the Aleve as possible. She seems okay so far.
We came home from the lake, and I noticed the dark violet color variety of #iris was in bloom. #hydrangeas are changing colors nicely. Kengo gave a side eye...
We had planned to go on a trail, but the park gate was still closed. It used to be 'open at dawn' but now not until 7am. Change of plan. A #silentsaturday instead at the lake on a cool (52F/11C) morning. A heron flew away as we approached.

Neat Nick’s Big Mess is an adorable picture book focusing on OCD and anxiety.
Chad Otis’ illustrations and story are charming and warm. I just fell in love with this friendly big dog. It is a wonderful story full of love and friendship that young readers, especially dog lovers, will adore !
One thing about Moxxi is that she has zero chill when we're at the cabin. There's always so much to do and so much to see that she stays up until she crashes at about 8pm.
So let's just say that this photo is a maaaassive win.
We got my husband off to the hospital at 4:15 this morning. Because he has skin cancer on his face that has stubbornly recurred after three removal efforts, today they are trying a different strategy. Hopefully, the mohs surgery is successful.
Summer decided to spend the rest of her very early morning in his chair. She has one of his sweatshirts to cuddle while she misses him.
Hope you got more sleep than we did.
Good morning, Mastodon. #Summer#Dog
