No matter how sacred people claim they are, religious beliefs are subjective and not immune to criticism just like any other belief system or ideology. Criticism of religion is not an attack on individuals, it's a critique of ideas and practices that have societal implications. 52 years ago today on March 17 1972, my favorite movie 'Pink Flamingos' had its premiere at the campus of the University of Baltimore. It's quite a film.
I don't recommend you watch this movie unless you're prepared for some weird and gross stuff. But I grew up in Maryland and it sure does sum up Baltimore in a beautiful and bizarre way.
I love John Waters flicks, and this one's my favorite forever.

However, as an #Australian#citizen, I do not recognise him as my king nor that I am his 'subject'.
Equally, I do not accept his assertion of a #divine#birthright to rule.
I very much resent that our taxes will be used to provide him with a luxurious farewell tour of my country and would much prefer that he stay home and tend to his health at his own expense.

4/The fact that these sightings were so immediate made it feel like a reassurance/reminder from the #divine -the part of life/existence that is beyond (beside/throughout) the more mundane or concrete parts of our experience.

A podcast or audiobook with a general history or historic overlook and some basic examples as an introduction to start would be perfect for me.
