Killing the bourgeoisie will not help achieve communism. Resorting to executing the rich only perpetuates a cycle of violence and hinders the possibility of creating a truly just and equitable society. Instead, the focus should be on systemic change and addressing economic inequalities instead of targeting specific groups for destruction.

Hundreds of people need to go out in North Carolina with their mask on, and not just once, but as many times as necessary until this stupid law is repealed. This is literally a matter of life and death. They can't arrest all of them.

Communism could free up time for pursuits such as education, art, and leisure, which are undervalued in capitalism.

Communism could potentially free up time for pursuits by redistributing labor and resources more equitably, reducing the need for long work hours and allowing people to focus on personal interests and passions.

I'm not a Marxist, but I'm aware enough of Marxism to understand that Marxism is not inherently violent or oppressive; many Marxist thinkers and activists have advocated for nonviolent means of social change and have opposed oppressive regimes. I suggest you learn more about Marxism so you can have a proper understanding of it.

Hell no, not Trotsky! Anton Pannekoek, Daniel Guérin, Paul Mattick, Cornelius Castoriadis, Murray Bookchin, Sam Dolgoff, and Maurice Brinton are some notable Libertarian Marxist authors to look into to learn about Marxism. Rosa Luxemburg, while not a Libertarian Marxist, is also a very good author who wrote on Marxism and critiqued the authoritarianism and bureaucracy within the socialist movement of her time.

813 US billionaires control a record $5.7 trillion in wealth.

The bottom 50% of Americans control $3.7 trillion in wealth.

When ~800 people control more wealth than half a country’s population, we have a very serious problem.

Capitalism, whether under Reaganomics or neoliberalism, regulated or unregulated, inevitably leads to extreme wealth concentration, social inequality, and the erosion of democratic institutions.

Radical_EgoCom,
@Radical_EgoCom@mastodon.social avatar

@xs4me2 @rbreich
Social democracy still operates within the confines of a capitalist system, where wealth and power remain concentrated in the hands of a few. Reliance on taxation alone doesn't address the fundamental flaws of capitalism, such as the exploitation of labor and the commodification of resources.

Radical_EgoCom,
@Radical_EgoCom@mastodon.social avatar

@xs4me2 @rbreich
I know state control isn't the solution. The solution is to pur control of society into the hands of the people instead of a bureaucratic middleman of authority.

I support voting, but it's black-and-white thinking to presume that not voting is equivalent to voting for fascism. Now, if someone refuses to vote and does nothing else, then that is stupid, but there are other ways for people to positively influence their community/country and counter fascism other than voting.

Radical_EgoCom,
@Radical_EgoCom@mastodon.social avatar

@xs4me2 @TheBestLeiya @rbreich
Yes, doing both would be optimal.

You're an anarchist, I presume. There's never going to be a party that you agree with, and it's the same with me. You essentially have two viable options that I know of. You could either vote for a party that most aligns with your core political values, or if you choose not to vote, you can advocate for and/or engage in grassroots organizing, direct action, and community building to challenge systemic injustices and create meaningful change from the ground up.

One of the best things people can do to tackle this is to convince people to lose their trust in this current social/economic system and advocate for the creation of a new system (Libertarian Communism in my opinion) to replace it.

Radical_EgoCom,
@Radical_EgoCom@mastodon.social avatar

@antics @lawas @janisf @TessRants
Political theory is very important; it's what does and will motivate the actions of the people who actually want to create a better system to replace this one. Real-world action is obviously important, but a blueprint is necessary in order to succeed, and that blueprint is theory.

Radical_EgoCom,
@Radical_EgoCom@mastodon.social avatar

@janisf @antics @lawas @TessRants
One way to convert our capitalist society into a communist society is by increasing the amount of workers' unions and workers' cooperatives to increase the amount of control workers have over their lives and society at large while simultaneously convincing workers of the goal of creating a communist society where they'd collectively have complete control over production and society. This will take a long time, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work.

Radical_EgoCom,
@Radical_EgoCom@mastodon.social avatar

@janisf @antics @lawas @TessRants
Yeah. I'm not against voting for politicians in the interest of workers and workers' rights, I'm only against the mentality that voting alone will solve the working class's problems. Voting is a means to an end, the end being the abolition of capitalism and the construction of a communist society, which will ultimately rely on the efforts of the working class to construct this new society from the bottom up, and likely against the wishes of the capitalist state

There are no such things as good landlords or cops. People shouldn't exploit others by owning property or enforcing authority. Instead, we should strive for systems where resources are collectively managed and people are empowered to govern themselves.

Nomenklatura refers to a system of patronage and privilege in the Soviet Union and other authoritarian states, where key positions in government, industry, and other organizations were filled by loyal members of the Communist Party. These positions often came with perks and privileges. This is further proof that these countries were not communist.

The Soviet Union wasn't communist, it was an authoritarian regime that distorted the principles of true communism, which advocates for voluntary cooperation and the absence of hierarchy, in stark contrast to the oppressive centralized control seen in the Soviet system.
