@x I haven't used Pidgin, but the XMPP support is said to be very outdated. @grimmy is working on modern XMPP support, but until then Gajim is probably the best choice.
What's people's favourite #mastodon#client on #android? I tried #tusky for a bit but always find myself coming back to the official mastodon one. I like things plain and simple and I'm not bothered about having a "twitter-like" experience as I came from Reddit before landing here. Any suggestions?
Do I know anybody good with #Linux and #NFS? I've got a 1G network at home, and on the #server also running Linux, I get super fast tar -xvf and on the #client the same tar -xvf is incredibly slow, with a massive pause between each file.
I've tried researching on google for linux NFS performance, and I keep running into incredibly ancient info, or for an entirely different *NIX. Even the bog standard NFS troubleshooting tooling mentioned online is missing now.
@xabean it's been ages since I dealt with NFS. Have you tried to do tuning on network stack? Given that your client is diskless, that's where your bang for the buck is going to be IMO.
Full disclosure, It's been ages since I had nfs running on home network.
We have a new Experimental Feature on @elk Canary (https://main.elk.zone) -- Don't forget to turn it on and provide feedback! 🙏
Sharing PeerTube, SoundCloud, YouTube, and even links to Mastodon posts with media attachment will bring up an Embedded Media Player so you can just watch/listen on your timeline. :)
