I had been meaning to look at using #Ollama for local #AI & today I caught this excellent video how-to. Still not sold on the current hype of AI but it would be foolish to overlook its place in our future.
Honestly, this little project was the most fun I’ve had in a while: installing/using different AI models, using AI in the #terminal, then in a #browser, even creating a persona for the prompts. And it’s all running locally (no internet needed!), so it’s #private. 🤓
The problem for searching for a search engine that doesn't use AI is that you are using an AI search engine to search for it.
I'm not sure, but I think this may act as a metaphor for far too much. IDK, maybe I should do a web search on that. #AI#browser#web#internet
I forgot to post about this yesterday, though not surprising due to how extremely busy work has been with the Play Store release of Nova 8.
I applied for the Vivaldi Sopranos program and it looks like I've been accepted. I'll have some accounts setup on Monday for me so I'll be able to dive in head first and see what all is going on.
That means I'm now an Ambassador and a Soprano for @Vivaldi which is pretty exciting!
May the Fourth be with you (I bet I'm the first one in your timeline saying this!). As a @Vivaldi#browser afficionado, I obviously need to play around with a theme today.
We are working on the new version of Midori 11.3.3 which brings more speed, more security and much more fluidity at the time of navigation, as well as the correction of better problems. It will be available very soon.
🎙️ We kicked off the first Live audio Community Talk with our cherished Community members recently.
🎧 In case you missed it, grab your beverage, kick back, and listen as Vivaldi hosts @marialeal and @devina, talk to them about "What makes Vivaldi unique?" 👇🏻
Permission-based systems are bad. See #XUL getting replaced by #WebExtensions for example. It didn't stop #malware from getting into the #browser or the extension store. On the contrary, the malware problem only got worse after the complete replacement of XUL extensions, which is often disparaged as "insecure" because it allowed users to pretty much change how their browser fundamentally works.
Who knew that distrusting your users and not giving them control leads to more malicious software and user #security being broken more often. :seija_coffee:
I've wondered and maybe someone can tell me, instead of #adblock built into #browser programs why not have an ad-drainer? When you block the ad you tip off the source that you are blocking, but instead just read the ad stream and discard it instead of displaying it. The source will not know. Seems easy so am I missing something?
