More experiments with film development this evening. I learned two things:
You can retrospectively continue the fixing stage and recover "under fixed" negatives (up to a point).
Developer goes off, even when stored in the original container.
So it turns out my mistake this week has been to use old developer. Was starting to doubt my ability to follow a process. Any recommendations for occasional use #blackandwhite developer?
End of the line. #Photography#BlackAndWhite#retrotechnology
Edit: Anybody in #Ottawa want a buttload of vintage (but high-performance) oscilloscopes? The sampling plugins have a bandwidth of ~20 GHz.
Image of the day is Introspection, an in-camera double exposure on film.
Back in the late fall, Louka and I worked on a Photosynthesis session that had a good number of successful "leaf" images. These are probably my favourite leaf images since I started doing them. It's still a fraught process, with frequent failures as I struggle to balance the exposures of the leaf and the model. But I'll be back at it, now that it's the spring and there are leaves to work with again.

I went to this coffee shop often over the last 3+ decades. I was sorry to see that the location has closed. I even used it for a location in a fantasy novel a few years back. #Photography#BlackAndWhite#Toronto#Coffee
The start of a new project using the Ricoh GR III in the high-contrast black and white setting to record urban scenes where tonal range and high resolution are secondary to mood and stark texture.
