Like all systems of violent colonisation, it was an abomination and I'm very proud of the role that the left in Aotearoa played in supporting the indigenous organisations that eventually defeated it.
Israel doesn't just occupy Palestinian land, but also Palestinian airspace, denying Palestinians their right to their own an airport. Not only does this force Palestinians into grueling travel through land borders, but it's part of the larger collective punishment that restricts Palestinians' movement, and works to isolate the population from each other and the world.

Wow. CNBC's Ali Velshi calls #Israel "an #apartheid state", claiming "Only some people who live under [Israel's] control enjoy its protections, and the delineation is whether you're Palestinian or not".
As only moments before Velshi had spoken of Palestinians in the Knesset, it's clear that he knows that he's lying. Israeli Arabs enjoy the same rights as other Israelis (though I don't deny they suffer from discrimination and civic neglect).
