I'm as excited about the rumors of improved desktop modes and video out support for the Pixel 8 as the next guy, but we've fielded these kinds of rumors before.
Currently the only phone I have that can run an Android 14 beta, AND has video out, just did this using the desktop mode in Android dev settings.
Which is even more broken than the A13 desktop mode, which was already almost nonfunctional from the A12 mode.
I really WANT Google to give us a Pixel 8 with a proper desktop or tablet large screen mode, but I'm not getting my hopes up until we see the phone in action.
NOOOO! The public release of Android 14 doesn't include the option to use your phone as a webcam!?!?!?
DAMMIT! I wanted to use that with the Pixel 8 Pro!
Someone please tell me I'm missing something...
If you answered, yes, to both questions, I have the solution for you if you have not yet received the update over the air or Wi-Fi.
This work best if you are using Linux. You will also want to back up your data, because for best results, you will be wiping your phone and, no, you do not need OEM to be unlocked (mine is not, and it works).
My #LG#V60 just got another #android security update. It's not #android14, but considering they stopped making phones I'm still pretty chuffed. Battery life is still at 85-90% too! We lost a real one y'all! #LGv60
Google has started the rollout for Android 14...A modest update that builds further upon the Android OS, it's a shame that the OTA images aren't yet available.
I'll have to check the official webpage for Full OTAs if I don't get the update within a few days.
The First #CalyxOS based on #Android14 is available for testing. We're releasing it for Pixel 6a as that's our most popular phone & all of our developers have at least one. Do not update your Pixel 6 to Android 14, especially when you have multiple profiles. It stucks the memory (e.g. photos are not saved anymore), launches a factory reset, and prevents startup.
Kann man ober den Notifications die Settings-Buttons (Wlan, Bluetooth, Taschenlampe...) wieder klein machen? - Nur Symbol, dafür aber mehr davon auf einer Seite - so wie's bei Android 10 war
However, plugging it in via USB doesn’t offer me the webcam option.
Upon further investigation, it looks like I lack the “com.android.deviceaswebcam” app required for this. Shouldn’t it be included by default? Anyone got some ideas about this?

En #Android14 hay un "bug" con el explorador de archivos que ya no permite por las buenas ni las malas sin ser usuario root modificar Android/Data/, que es el único sitio donde esa app guarda las partidas.
La solución del dev: incluir en la versión de Google Play sincronización con Google Drive sin una opción de exportación e importación manual.

Un bon point pour 1+ qui a pourtant sorti depuis le OnePlus 10, OnePlus 11 et OnePlus 12
