It's part of my musical park tour video that you can vicariously enjoy. I suggest watching this, when you need a little extra joy & natural beauty in your life: https://youtu.be/wJC97eCmVJM?si=vYmFJE7J33JOjH7s
Another #yellow variety of my #daylilies have bloomed. Delightful bright & cheery florals.
You can eat daylilies - I've eaten petals & fried their buds before.
We've harvested from all of our apple, yellow plum & Asian pear trees 3 times already. More fruits are ripening for more harvests. Our peach tree has been harvested 3 times already. We have about 3-4 harvests for that tree.
The #CallaLilies my friend Nadene gifted us have bloomed. Lovely yellow with pink. Transplanted to bigger pot & they're by my little free community library in front of our home.
I harvested some more #spinach from our gardens today 😊
Spinach is one of a few food plants that I grow in #Saanich - year round. It's more difficult to manage in increasingly too hot temps in Summer & I have to harvest lots of leaves quickly in hot months to prevent too much bolting. In cooler months, they do much better.
These are the 2 pots of #hostas that I use as #edibles - the others I don't harvest for cooking. Those ones are split & put into different garden areas. If you enjoy asparagus & endives - you'll enjoy cooking & eating young hosta shoots too. They taste similar to those veggies.
#Tulips don't last too long once they start blooming. They're still beautiful while dying off for the season. I like how their foliage changes colours.
It's proven to be #DroughtResistant, once established. One of very few #plants proven to be resistant to air pollution too. I highly recommend this for #ClimateAction#gardening. It's a gorgeous plant too.
Large #edible#perennial that needs full sun & no shade. As it's namesake, tolerant of high sodium soil & wind resistant - it depends on winds to pollinate hermaphroditic flowers. I recommend this easy to grow #plant, for coastal food gardens.
The first of my royal purple & golden sweet #SnowPeas have emerged. I grow the more commonly known green Oregon snow peas too. I love eating #peas - fresh n raw from the garden or cooked.
