Woah! gog has the FM-Towns version of Zak McKracken! 256 colors + atmosphere soundtrack. I'm replaying my childhood but this time with a solution 🥸 don't wanna get stuck #gog#ZakMcKracken#lucasarts#AdventureGame#fmtowns
Throwback to childhood days spent with Zak McKracken!
I vividly remember those moments stepping out of Zak's house, him turning back, and casually remarking, "Looks good." It's funny how some game moments stick with you.
Now, on days like today, when the evening wraps up a genuinely good day, I find myself metaphorically looking back at the day's events. And just like Zak, I think to myself: "Looks good." It's a simple phrase, yet it perfectly captures the satisfaction and contentment of a day well spent.
I'm teaching my kids the values of the traditional point-and-click adventures, and we're currently about to finish #MonkeyIsland 2. Other classics like #ZakMcKracken and #ManiacMansion are on the to-to list, but I'm also looking for something new - and that's when I - somewhat late, admittedly, given that it was release some six years ago - discovered that the legendary @grumpygamer made #ThimbleweedPark which looks absolutely bloody amazing. And it's on sale on both Steam and GOG! This is going to be awesome! :-)

They are entirely free to download! Just let me know which one is your favorite 🥰
I had a lot of fun talking with Roland Austinat for RetroGamer about #ZakMcKracken and the early days at Lucasfilm Games/#LucasArts. It's really fun when I get totally new questions in an interview. Since I had fun answering the questions, maybe you'll have fun reading it all. https://www.retro-gamer.de/interview-david-fox/
Found this glitched image in the #ZakMcKracken DOS V1 resource files. The background art in the original Commodore 64 version and the DOS V1 port was done as a series of repeating 8x8 tiles. This grid looks like it might be a guide for the tile boundaries! #lucasarts#adventuregames
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (1992) is one of my favourite adventure games. It had a great story and it's a shame they didn't adapt this into a movie.
And we get started with a brand new set of Doodle O'Clock with Paul Rudd. Who happens to be the one actor I think would fit the part to play Zak McKracken in a movie
Tonight, I'll be watching the final episode of #TheOffice. Whenever I finish a TV series, it feels like the end of an era. It's the same feeling I get when I complete a graphic adventure game. Somehow, it feels like it accompanied me through a phase of my life, and The Office has been a part of my evenings for many months. This is why there are some series and games I've never completed, simply because I'm too attached to them. I confess: I've never (by choice) finished Zak McKracken.

The guide also lists all the objects in the game (where to find them and where to use them), the maze map, the connections between each airport and Zak McKracken's notebook.
