w00t! I took some time this morning to create a better "debug" screen for testing my graphic adventure / point and click scene.
Lots of things still to do, of course, like animation, and depth sorting (which is already setup, but just not working =p) - This is done with Krita for drawing, Tiled for the map/depth, and PhaserJS as the basis for the engine.
Tonight, I'll be watching the final episode of #TheOffice. Whenever I finish a TV series, it feels like the end of an era. It's the same feeling I get when I complete a graphic adventure game. Somehow, it feels like it accompanied me through a phase of my life, and The Office has been a part of my evenings for many months. This is why there are some series and games I've never completed, simply because I'm too attached to them. I confess: I've never (by choice) finished Zak McKracken.
Adventure games are a niche and saturated market. What would make The Will of Arthur Flabbington stand among all others?
If I have to choose one strength point, it's a very funny game. You'll laugh for sure. #indiegamedev#indiegame#adventuregame#pointandclick#graphicadventure
The #ReturnToMonkeyIsland#devcom panel was so much fun for us and the audience. Such a supportive group of people. The entire 50 minute talk was 100% Q&A. We could have continued answering questions for hours. Left to right: Paul Toderas (moderator), Zoé Nguyen Thanh (artist), Dave Grossman (co-designer/writer), Ron Gilbert (creator, co-designer/writer), David Fox (lead game programmer), Rex Crowle (art director)
