Here is the first of my photos from the recent snowfall.
There is a hill/mountain near me from where one has an awesome view over the region. Getting up there was not easy because of all the snow, but it was worth it.
Right now it is raining heavily and the snow is melting fast, so all that remains from the beautiful snow covered landscape are memories and photographs…
Luckily winter is only just beginning and there will be a lot more snow to come…
I ventured off the snow-packed path to capture this beautiful photograph. Despite the ankle-deep snow and the wet, cold feet, the effort was worth it. The sun rose above the horizon, creating a stunning view.

Recently it has been so cold here that even the sea froze… with the very low winter-sun that added to a very special and magical coastal atmosphere that is still in my mind two weeks later.
I love walking in a snowy forest! The tranquility and stillness are so peaceful. A couple years ago, I explored Mill Mountain after a heavy snowfall. The trees were beautifully coated with thick layers of snow. Check out my gallery for prints and more.
Standing at the edge of Tahquamenon Falls in winter was simply magical. The snowflakes gently falling, the chilly breeze, and the thundering sound of the waterfall created a feast for my senses.
Truly magical experience, light and frozen fog on our winter walk last night. Simply stunning! -10℃, walking a few kilometers through knee-deep fresh powder snow, thick frozen fog drifting around us, diffusing the last light and creating surreal (almost cliché) colors...
So one of my hobbies is to go around and make designs in the wild ice, “figures”. (The artform that is the predecessor to modern day figure skating.) They are ephemeral, and more often than not I’m the only one who sees them (besides a few passing eagles I suppose), but they make me happy. #WildIce#wildiceskating#figureskating#winterwonderland
I had a blast creating a blizzard in a crystal tea cup! It's not often that we get snow here in the valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The snow scene I made has muted and nearly monochromatic colors, just like typical snow scenes. ❄️🏔️
Check out this amazing digital artwork I created using my imagination! It depicts a winter scene reflected in the lens of my camera, showcasing the happiness I experience when capturing the beauty of the natural world.
