@thurrott Its what we have deployed on all PC's at work, but never thought too much of it. I remember back in like 2007, to get access to Enterprise was seen as some holy grail. I have a bunch of saved #MSDN keys which includes a lot of #Windows10 Enterprise keys. I should upgrade Pro installs to it just for fun.

@thurrott After all, it's not wise to jump out of a perfectly working airplane 😂 I use #Windows10 at work, but some of the computers are starting to get the upgrade to #Windows1. To be honest though, I don't see any night and day benefits. Its not like a going from FAT32 to NTFS, or a true 32 bit operating system with memory management, pre-emptive multi-tasking.
Don't trash or trade-in a perfectly good PC just because Windows 10 won't be supported much longer. You have 5 ways to continue using it, with some of those options being much better than others!
But tbh I think people really blasted #Windows8 harsher than it deserved to be, looking back. It made perfect sense for #tablets. Just not so for desktop and non-touch laptops. Perhaps if #Microsoft just branded it like "Windows Tablet" instead of marketing it as a successor to Windows 7 people would've been more forgiving and we wouldn't get the mess that is #Windows11 which I still don't understand what it's supposed to be and just seems to be designed out of spite. At least #Windows10 had the purpose of being a subscription-based OS in mind, well until they announced 11 that is...
I know the #fediverse here hates #Windows and MS (and I do too) but I kinda wish their eventual downfall was a little more dignified than this. Where #Linux finally wins desktop out of merit, not because its competitor shitted itself... :sagume_think:
Linux Mint - which flavour to choose? Cinnamon vs MATE vs Xfce. Simple, if your coming from Windows 10 Cinnamon will look and feel familiar. If you have an older pc or are short on RAM go for the Xfce version. #LinuxMint#Linux#Windows10#windows11

This new laptop outclasses my old one drastically – about five years newer, better CPU, more RAM, an SSD instead of HDD, etc. etc. – but Windows 10 just feels sluggish as fuck.

Après l'interface pourrie de #Windows8, un poil améliorée en version 8.1, celle de #Windows10 aurait pourtant pu me convenir.
Mais voir Angry Birds (notamment) installé par défaut m'a fait penser que Microsoft s'engageait dans un chemin complètement à l'ouest.
Et beaucoup d'autres choses ont fini de me convaincre du grand n'importe quoi à venir : #télémétrie partiellement désactivable (mais pas complètement) et réactivée lors d'updates, arrivée des publicités, fin du compte local, toussa toussa...

Lol now I have a computer running #Microsoft#Windows10, an #Apple#iPhone 13 Mini on #iOS 17.4 beta, my #Google Pixel Tablet running #Android 14, an #AppleWatch on #WatchOS 10.4 Beta, and an #Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max and #EchoDot. I’m all over the place! Most of my stuff is in different ecosystems. Is anyone else out there like this? Lol sometimes I want things to work together, like being able to set do not disturb on one and have it go across all of them, but with all of them being in different ecosystems, I don’t think that's possible. #technology

Не обращать внимания на путаницу в именах.
Не заботиться о совместимом поведении.
Не заботиться о товарных знаках или де-факто товарных знаках.
Не спрашивать первоначальные продуктовые команды, все ли в порядке.
