iOS 17.3 adds multiple features originally planned for #iOS 17
Adds “Stolen Device Protection” + a handful of #security#updates. Update ASAP.
Stolen Device Protection limits passcode fallback for some actions and adds security delay functions to sensitive changes, such as changing the device pin.

This, brought to you by me being exceptionally bored. If you want to check for updates on demand but without opening Settings (even works if you have updates paused!) just type UsoClient StartInteractiveScan into Run and it'll do it, but you might want to do it with the Windows Update page open the first time just to make sure it worked, as you'll receive no output. But then you can get even more crazy and say New>Shortcut and punch in c:\windows\system32\UsoClient.exe StartInteractiveScan, hit next, name it, hit finish, then go to properties and put a shortcut key on it! Then when you want updates or if they're paused and you want to update Defender, just hit your shortcut and you can do it automatically with one command! For anyone who updated to Android 14 QPR2 and have or still are experiencing crashes within Nova Launcher, we should have fixes put out today that will fix this.

Mastodon: Umfangreiches Update verbessert Suche, Web-Interface und Einstieg
Seit Donnerstag ist ein umfangreiches #Update für Mastodon verfügbar, immer mehr Instanzen sind schon umgestellt. Als größte Neuerung gibt es die Volltextsuche.
Oh! Speaking of updates here at the ranch, it just kind of happened that we're now hosting a very casual viewing of the Perseides meteor shower next weekend. We're located in an International Dark Sky Community, so we have strangers coming to camp and friends coming to enjoy the shower. Anyone in the American Southwest is welcome to contact me for details if you're interested in joining us. It isn't necessarily an "event" we're opening to the public, but I'd definitely be open to considering hosting new friends for something so casual.
As summer closes, it feels like the season is ramping up again, and it's quite exciting to re-enter the season where work can really be done on our land and we'll be consistently hosting our community again.
