UNRWA ran 183 schools in Gaza before Israel’s war on the territory. Those schools were converted into shelters after the start of the war in October, with approximately one million people seeking refuge in school buildings in the early months of the war.
An estimated 455 internally displaced people have been killed while sheltering at UNRWA facilities in Gaza since October.
Several adjacent classrooms were targeted inside an #UNRWA school full of displaced people. They were bombed with several war missiles.
Dozens of palestinians were murdered and many injuries after three classrooms were targeted at Al-Oula School, opposite Al-Majd Building in Al-Nuseirat Camp. The school houses a thousand displaced people.
The the morning of May 11, the #Israeli army spokesperson announced that the #military had begun a new operation in #Jabalia, the city and adjacent refugee camp in northern #Gaza. Evacuation orders were issued to #Palestinian residents of several neighborhoods, but many have been unable to leave; others have decided to stay, given the lack of any safe areas throughout the Strip.
The latest Israeli attack on the camp, involving both aircraft and ground troops, has had devastating consequences: the #army has bombed and bulldozed entire residential squares, markets, and food warehouses, exacerbating the already desperate humanitarian crisis, while corpses remain scattered in the streets.
Sabri Abu Al-Nasr, 43 years old, is a resident of the camp who took refuge in the #UNRWA-affiliated Al-Fakhoura #School, in an attempt to escape the Israeli bombing. “The conditions in the camp are terrible, and no one is spared from the artillery and air bombardment,” he told +972. “Israeli snipers are on high buildings — they shoot at every moving object.
On Oct. 29, Abu Al-Nasr lost his wife Nisreen (40) and his children Nisma (16), Hamza (14), and Mohammad (13) when Israel bombed a residential square adjacent to the family’s home. Their bodies remain trapped under the rubble, preventing Abu al-Nasr from being able to properly bury his loved ones. Seven months later, amid a new Israeli assault, he says “the smell of death and blood wafts throughout the camp.”
The Israeli Knesset’s preliminary bill to designate UNRWA as a terrorist organisation is an outrageous attack on humanitarian assistance, and an act of collective punishment against the Palestinian people.
Israel’s allies, which are all members of the United Nations, must stand against this move to criminalise humanitarian assistance and ensure that #UNRWA can continue its essential work.

The terrorist Israeli occupation gives humanitarian organisation #UNRWA 30 days to leave East Jerusalem.
In a masterstroke of projection, it intends to declare UNRWA, part of the UNO, established in the late 40s to bring relief to those fleeing the #NAKBA, a terrorist organisation.

The aftermath of this morning's #massacre: #Israeli#occupation forces struck displaced Palestinians in tents inside the #UNRWA headquarters in #Rafah, resulting in the slaughter of Palestinian families.
"Israel's parliament has voted to approve a bill that would designate the UN's agency for Palestinian refugees as a terrorist organisation.
The bill also calls for a complete severing of ties from UNRWA. ...
The bill still needs to clear several more steps before being implemented."
The Israeli army justifies the bombing and burning of the displaced in an UNRWA displacement camp in #Rafah, claiming that it is “a #Hamas compound”.
The #UNRWA displaced camp, which was designated as a safe area to which thousands of civilians were pushed, was targeted with 8 bombs, killing at least 35, most of whom are women and children.
Horrific footage is unfolding of the Israeli massacre of displaced Palestinians, with 8 missiles targeting the displacement camp at a #UNRWA site in #Rafah, despite Israel claiming it is "safe."
Civil Defense to Al Jazeera: We believe that the occupation army used internationally prohibited weapons to target the displaced in Rafah, judging by the size of the fires that erupted at the targeted site.
To all the bad opinions regarding #gaza aid trucks from people who have never driven a truck:
Go to #Palestine and drive a truck through a #war zone, then report back.
The problem is finding #truck#drivers willing to risk their lives as the trucks are attacked by mobs of civilians standing around in a live fire war zone.
