Congratulations to Jack Nosco of Newbury Park, who today rode his bike for the 1,000th day in a row! How many days a week do you exercise?
Jack, a retired VCFD captain, also organizes the Mike Nosco Memorial Ride. Every Nov. 3 hundreds of cyclists (or more) ride to benefit local families and individuals facing life-threatening illness. Learn more/donate at mikenosco.com.

Interesting, plan to make it easier for bicyclists and pedestrians to access area in our town. I'm curious how many folks are "thinking outside the box" vs. just sidewalks. 🤔 #BikeTooter#ThousandOaks#VenturaCounty
"VC Star: CFO stole millions, developer of T.O. homeless project says..." (company says that) "The company’s recently fired chief financial officer took it and spent much of it on Beverly Hills real estate, expensive cars, private jet travel, VIP passes to Coachella and more than a quarter of a million dollars in jewelry and handbags for his girlfriend."
Some bozo ran over nearly every cone on the eastbound side of the demonstration bicycle lane here in Thousand Oaks. Must have been more than two dozen cones down. Drunk driver? Someone who doesn't like bicycle lanes? Or someone who has a grudge against cones? (ps. this is why separated, not coned off, lanes are better) #ThousandOaks#cycling
From Andrew Pletcher: ICYMI: @CityofTO will host a bike lane demonstration where a portion of Hillcrest Drive (between Wilbur Road and Lynn Road) will be made into a temporary bike lane. The bike demonstration will be from May 13, 2024, through May 31, 2024.
Woohoo! It's "try out the new bicycle lane day" for me sometime. (unfortunately, will have to drive my bicycle over there to try this out, due to distance and lack of time/safe routes there....a wee bit beyond my range at the moment) #ConejoValley#ThousandOaks#BikeTooter
Today’s opening of the Conejo Canyons bridge in Hill Canyon is excellent news for hikers, cyclists, and public safety. Hikers and cyclists will no longer have to share the single-lane road with trucks entering/leaving the Hill Canyon wastewater treatment plant.
And because the bridge connects Hill Canyon with the Western Plateau in Newbury Park, first responders and public works employees no longer will have to travel out of town via the Camarillo grade to reach either end of the Conejo Canyons.
We are incredibly fortunate to live in such a beautiful area. Hope you get out and enjoy it!

Thanks to Rep. Julia Brownley, Ventura County today received a $12 million federal electrifcation grant, with $7 million of that heading to Thousand Oaks.
The grant will fund EV charging stations, battery storage, related infrastructure, and job training.
This is a win-win-win-win:
It’s good for our climate
It’s good for the growing number of EV users
It’s good for public safety (essential city services need power during emergencies)
It’s good for our economy, creating green jobs
This was a team effort, with many on city staff taking part, along with partners across the county. Kudos all! This will improve people’s lives.
Anybody know what these are? At first glance I thought they were birds, when they got closer they looked like sky divers, then….I don’t know what they were. There were 5 of them way up that drifted off in different directions. Around 3 this afternoon 🤔🤔 #thousandoaks#venturacounty
People associate “low income” with desperate poverty, but shouldn’t.
In the context of housing, the term has a specific meaning, defined by the state under new 2023 guidelines for Ventura County to mean a family of 4 making $106,250/year.
And that’s countywide; the threshold is likely higher in Thousand Oaks.
