#TheSilence 5 songs about silence, quietness and tranquillity.
Avoiding both the (excellent) songs from Depeche Mode and Delerium, I’ve selected 4 songs (as pics) that are quietly sung. Almost tranquil.
Nelly Furtado and Say It Right
Sting and Shape of my Heart
Des’ree and You Gotta Be
Extreme and More Than Words
Here’s an instrumental from Genesis, paired with Unquiet Slumbers for the Sleepers on the album (and give yourself literary points if you spot the book reference in the title)
Delerium - Silence (Rhys Fulber of Front Line Assembly + Sarah McLachlan)
Assemblage 23 - Silence
Sponge - Silence is Their Drug
Insatiable - Silence of the Universe
Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence
No Use for a Name - Enjoy the Silence (I'm a sucker for pop punk covers)
Bob Mould - The Silence Between Us
White Lies - Peace & Quiet
Apoptygma Berzerk - Suffer in Silence
So, for @neurothing's #ThursdayFiveList with the theme #TheSilence, I've been thinking about songs I love that use silence and sparseness to great effect ...
While a touch obnoxious to list the same song five times (and I apologize if it is taken to be so), I've noticed it is a bit of a Rock Artist Right of Passage lately to cover Enjoy The Silence.
