Decided to make this post as it might help people out when hunting for Nintendo carts and steer them clear from pirated ones.

The general rule of thumb is that every western Nintendo cart from the NES up to the N64 and GBA have 2 clear things to look out for.

An indented number in the label, either on the front or the back.
As well as an F(ront) or B(ack) in the plastic at the connectors.

A NES cart for example:

On the back label of a NES cart you will find an number imprinted into the label.

Took a while to get going but really enjoying Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown now! I always forget these sorts of games are much harder at the beginning before you unlock abilities and extra health/damage etc.
