It’s good to see that this ancient sweet chestnut has put out some vigorous foliage this year - it looked quite dead in winter. #ancient #tree #Scotland #Perthshire

Right. I absolutely have stuff to do that isn't sitting here so I will just add this better photo of the windy spot, as the compression on the gif above definitely killed the view a bit.

The weather is doing some funny stuff. Only a few days ago it was 24°C. This morning it was 4°C, and my breath was condensating. That's June in the Highlands.

Why is the word not uttered on the so-called anymore? I guess it may get the odd passing mention as they are bound to have on daily now.

Countryside access curbs in England ‘cost six times’ Scotland’s right to roam

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/article/2024/jun/06/englands-restrictive-rural-access-rules-cost-six-times-that-of-scotlands-figures-show

It is actually a right to access responsibly. But what the hell, it will always be used as a stick to beat Scotland by most of the MSM.

I am however very very amused. This must be the first vaguely positive article the Guardian has published about Scotland. Have they got the right country? Or was their ;Scottish Correspondent' on hols?

Guardian on Labour’s Welsh dilemma: winning a landslide with a lame duck leader

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/article/2024/jun/06/the-guardian-view-on-labours-welsh-dilemma-winning-a-landslide-with-a-lame-duck-leader

That is not what his leader believes, and it might help his cause if he was not supported by a truly corrupt company. Labour AND the Guardian wake up. Amazing statement ‘Since 2019, UK ministers have disregarded constitutional norms by legislating in areas devolved to the Senedd.’ - they have never said the same thing about .

A view from the south-east of Stac Pollaidh or "Stack Polly", north of Ullapool in Wester Ross. At 2,008ft or 612m in height, this is a mountain that easily makes up in character and charm for what it lacks in stature.
