Our next #TransitMeetup is on the books! Join us at Mountain View Transit Center on March 17 at 5:30 PM to celebrate transit staff and operators! Come discuss transit with other passionate transit fans and write notes of appreciation to drivers and agencies.
We’ll also be doing a group transit ride from West Valley College to the MVTC. Join us at the WVC Transit Center at 3:30 PM to ride with us!
#VTA continues to keep up the great work, with ridership increasing year over year. Comparing December ridership numbers between 2022 and 2023, there was a 16.6% increase in overall riders, a 15.3% increase in bus riders, and a 22.7% increase in light rail riders! 🚌🚈📈
Glad to see #SantaClaraCounty#sfba starting to use the Affordable Housing Bond (Measure A) to actively create high-density, affordable housing in job-rich areas near where I live. Several housing projects were recently approved in #PaloAlto and #MountainView, which include units specifically designated for formerly unhoused people.
This is how you properly address #homelessness: by giving people homes to live in. I’m glad my tax dollars are helping to do that.
“Measure A funding brings more affordable housing to North County”
#TodayILearned that #SantaClaraCounty operates the first (and only?) drug donation pharmacy, where they take surplus drugs from healthcare providers and give them away FOR FREE to anyone with a prescription. They’ll even mail it to you if you want.
I’m shedding a tear for the closure of #SummitSchools Denali Middle School in #Sunnyvale. This was a charter school that offered an innovative and personalized education style, and was an inclusive and welcoming environment for kids with neurodivergent minds, while still remaining within the #SantaClaraCounty public school system. The COVID lockdowns really took a toll on them as many families moved out of the area to take advantage of #RemoteWork and more affordable housing elsewhere. The school lost too many students last year and never recovered, so they had to shut down. The converted office building they were in is now vacant once more.
