What are your thoughts on DNF (Did Not Finish)-ing books? Do you feel guilty about it? Do you worry you missed out on something? Or are you confident in dropping a book and reaching for the next one?
At what point are you most likely to DNF, if ever? What sorts of things cause you to DNF?
Hey bookish folks, I'd love your help! How do you find new-to-you books to read?
I'm trying to figure out where to advertise my books now that I have a fourth book out ( https://buy.bookfunnel.com/vxvlyi6b0v ). I'm rather unknown so can't spend big $$ but it's hard to know where is best to find readers. And yet, it's hard to have a budget without readers, too!
It's #BookLoversDay and I want to share the list of awesome #nonfiction books I read for this year's Polymath Training Challenge.
Run on a Hungarian book site, this challenge announces 12 nonfiction topics every year - 11 are the same, the 12th is randomly selected for each participant. You get to pick the books you want to read.
I found some awesome books for this year and finished early, so I'm sharing now 😊 📚
I'm always looking for new and innovative wasy to excuse my book hoarding.
I hadn't realised I could use the 'I'll die someday so nothing matters' angle...😜😂
If an #ebook subscription service sounds like it might be for you, please consider supporting one that isn't owned by #Amazon, that exploits its dominant position to force authors into exclusivity deals preventing their work from being available elsewhere. There are alternatives to #KindleUnlimited, including (but not limited to) #KoboPlus. @bookstodon
I am in #Portland and went to Village Merchants, a local thrift store. In every thrift shop, I usually go straight for the books. At this shop next to the shelves were a stack of wrapped packages with "A Blind Date with a Book" written on the front. There are clues on the front and the back of the package.
Can #Bookstodon guess which one I got? (See Comments for Answer)
How did The New York Times, one of the world’s most famous and well-established publications, choose to review Geraldine DeRuiter’s ( @everywhereist) new book?
By illustrating her decapitated head on a plate, getting devoured by another woman. No, I’m not joking.
Hey #Bookstodon - a question for you! Currently in India and purchasing #books to bring home. Planning on buying "The Priory of the Orange Tree" by Samantha Shannon. I've been wanting to read it but the library waiting list is 1,000 miles long.
Is it worth also buying its sequel "A Day of Fallen Night" as well?
Both are CRAZY cheap but quite thick. I also don't usually purchase both books in a series before reading the first. Thanks!
Two of my books, "Bayou Fire" and "Pompeii Fire," have protagonists who write for "Time Away," a (fictional) travel magazine. A third and final book in the series is bubbling away in my mind.
Where would you want to go for travel, adventure, and romance?
Wow! Almost 300 people have entered the Goodreads giveaway for the Kindle edition of "The Spiral and The Threads." Clearly, folks are already excited but for those who missed it, here's the link:
