Made a bunch of performance improvements to Kitten’s startup time. It now launches in under half a second on my machine vs a couple of seconds previously.
After initial load, when idle, ship another bundle async, which might be bigger in size, but is optimized for speed and swap the two bundles with each other.
In their blog post "Speeding up Rust edit-build-run cycle" David Lattimore shows how you can speed up #RustLang compile times by 16x by just changing some default compiler config:

It’s indeed pretty simple. Reports can be improved (HTML or PDF is missing, but CLI is excellent); the basis looks solid. No support for async yet, but it should not be a big deal to add it. No doubt contributions will pop soon. Keeping an eye on this project.
Please be sure to avoid fade-in effects when loading the page. It seems a good UX resource to maintain good visual stability, but the Core Web Vitals LCP metric reports a terrible experience.
If the menu is built via b13/menu and TreeMenu processor: is there a reason to link the menu items via f:link.page instead of putting {item.slug} directly into an a-tag?🤔 #TYPO3#performance
