It's estimated that 100,000 new songs are uploaded to #Spotify every day.
Inevitably, that means loads of really great music never gets heard.
Thanks to Venus Theory, I've just heard about #Forgotify, which points you to songs on Spotify that have no listens, or at least no complete play throughs.
Rock's not dead, it's just off living its best life in little cul de sacs like the one created by 21 Grams More. This is the pure stuff -- no qualifiers (e.g. classic, indie, stoner) needed. Puts me in mind of the roots rockers of the '80s (Graham Parker, Springsteen, Mellencamp even) -- no nonsense songs driven by guitar, bass and drums (with some tasty keys here and there) with clean production and passionate vocals. No frills, just #rock.
Oakland artist Monte Cazazza has his debut 7” single “To Mom On Mother's Day” released
Cazazza was an artist who spent the early '70s experimenting with shocking performance art acts, mostly in San Francisco. He was eventually “discovered” by experimental art groupnThrobbing Gristle and went on to work with the band Psychic TV.
This is the first non-TG artist released on Industrial Records. It’s backed musically by Throbbing Gristle too.
Is this the best song on my album? I’m slowly coming to think so – it wasn’t even up there as one of the top songs when I was making the album, but now it’s all over and released and I can listen to it as though it’s someone else’s, I now think this is the best one (shame, there were some others I imagined would be my favourite – maybe they tried too hard and this simply didn’t)
Also, it’s a positive uplifting song to give you a good state of mind – ejnoy!
