TIL: Es gibt keine Übersterblichkeit mehr.

Warum? Haben wir Infektionsschutz gemeistert? Wird jetzt alles besser?

Schön wär's. Die Übersterblichkeit errechnet sich aus der Sterberate der vergangenen 4 Jahre. Das bedeutet im Grunde also nur: wir haben einen temporären "stabilen" Zustand bzgl. der Sterberate erreicht. Die anfälligsten Personen sind weggestorben und die Sterberate ist trotzdem höher als vor Ausbruch der Pandemie. Yay...?

Bundeswehrsoldaten müssen sich nicht mehr gegen Corona impfen lassen

Eine generelle Impfpflicht gegen das Coronavirus war zwar diskutiert, aber nie eingeführt worden. Anders bei der Bundeswehr. Nun fällt dort die Impfpflicht wieder weg. Das hat auch Einfluss auf ein Gerichtsverfahren.

what does it do?

tbh, I like some "AI" in my terminal, kinda. I love git's help.autocorrect, which tries to correct typos automatically. This is statistical analysis on lexical distances which is commonly lumped into the "AI" buzzword.

I need to convert #HTML to #Markdown and I'm looking for a tool to do that.

The output should

• preserve line breaks in paragraphs
• not contain additional, unnecessary linebreaks (e.g. 4 empty lines between paragraphs)
• be configurable (e.g. whether to use * or _ for emphasis, or * vs - for unordered lists)
• if possible, allow me to hook into details (e.g. to convert <pre class="shell"> to ```sh)

#Python or #CLI. Alternatively, what's a really configurable prettifier?

the library version of pandoc provides an abstract syntax tree iirc, but that requires Haskell programming. I'm out of ideas then, sorry

This is already quite close to a statistical model where you enter your symptoms and it gives you a weighted list of potential ICD-10/11 codes
Doctors nowadays lack the time for a proper diagnosis of each patient and many conditions go unnoticed for years and decades

The main risk that I see is that health insurance companies could increase the pressure on doctors even further. If a statistical model already gives you the most likely diagnosis, you'll need less doctors, right? :awesome:

I do think that statistical analysis and modelling is a great tool for diagnostics. In fact, that's basically how evidence-based research works.

However, you asked the right question "How do young, inexperienced doctors learn, if the machines diagnose all the routine cases?"
And from my experience with medical students: they don't.
Of course there are good doctors with research experience out there but many doctors diagnose routinely using a symptom catalog.

Just to clarify again:

  • "AI art" is neither intelligently created, nor art. It's plagiarism via statistics.

  • "Generative art" is art. Someone has put a lot of thought and creativity into a mechanism that creates short-lived and ever-changing pieces. Many gen-art installations are pieces of art themselves.

Please don't mix them up.

Hat sich, so frage ich mich schonmal jemand aus der bubble kompetent mit dem z. B. bei auseinandergesetzt? Hintergrund, der Anbieter will seinen Kunden den Zugang zu den eigenen Dokumenten, wie Rechnung etc. nur noch ausschließlich über eine mit verseuchte App anbieten. retrööt erwünscht.

Ich habe mich eben mit dem Supportchat rumgeschlagen. Aussage ist, dass viele Anbieter das angeblich so machen und sie auf ihrem Rechn beharren. Der Supportmitarbeiter tat mir etwas Leid, weil der auch nur seine vorbereiteten Antworten hat.
Ich werde wohl kündigen.
Verträge einsehen geht auch nur noch via App, das kommt mir alles nicht legal vor.

with the new German law it's now legal to import cannabis seeds from countries within the EU where selling them is legal.
Can anyone recommend a trustworthy shop that ships orders of just 1–3 seeds?
It seems most shops don't take orders under ~50€ and I don't intend to fill a greenhouse.
