Instead of being screamed at for attention by "influencers" (whatever THAT means), here on Mastodon/the fedi, I have great, regular conversations with REAL PEOPLE (that's the key here! REAL people!) about music, TV, science, and tech stuff, and I see art and photos of animals and things in space. It's just nice.
MDMRN Twin 1: Are they supposed to be fighting people?
MDMRNia: What's the word for after the world ends?
Me: Post-apocalyptic?
MDMRNia: Yea, that. This video is like that.
Hi #mastodon.
Give me your favorite freedom fighter songs. Political rebellion songs. Fight the power songs. Stand up and lean into it jams. All genres. Deeeeep cuts and b-sides if you have them. I need things to power me through.
Who needs a little pre #BandcampFriday hype? Send me a song or two (no more than 10 minutes total) and I'll listen to them, do a little write up about what stands out about it (in a positive way), and post about it to my ~1.5k followers. No cost or obligation to you, but I always appreciate if you take a minute to check out my work, too! Just reply to this thread with a link to the specific song(s) you want me to check out (linking to your album and telling me which songs is fine too!).
This message goes out to any blind hardware music synthesiser users on here.
I’m hoping somewhere down the line to purchase a good keyboard with a vocoder in it.
I have always been attracted to the microKORG because it has nice physical and clicky buttons that you can operate and that is not always the easiest to find.
Basically I'm looking for recommendations. #Music#Synthesiser#Accessible#Blind#MIDI#microKORG#REAPER
I'm just gonna shout into the void and see how it goes here.
I just learned my 3rd chord on guitar on round 2 of attempting to learn (long story) but also play piano (mediocre), tin whistle (newb), darbuka (newb) and dance (ex pro). Currently studying flamenco, ra'i, and jazz, in my own way (not the only stuff I listen to). #music
Also putting together my first real #python project for work instead of just fixing other peoples'. It's chaos, bc this is the way.

A new to circulation recording of an essentially unknown show. There are not many live recordings of Alice from the 1970s so this is quite special. Quality is good, not great, but also not bad.
Blues, once a popular and influential musical genre, has become scarce in many Black communities, with seeming abandonment by young Black-Americans. At just 24 years years old, Kingfish (Christone Ingram), represents a resurgence of the blues due to his remarkable talent, life story, youthful energy, & dedication to the blues.
Most of the performers at the Grand Northern Ukulele Festival had a few bits of merch available, generally CDs, stickers, maybe T-shirts—Charlotte Pelgen even had sheet music for some of her compositions—which provide a financial boost, but this video from TechMoan made me wonder how long selling CDs at a venue will be viable. What replaces them? Download codes or USB sticks? I'm not sure there's a satisfactory alternative and that may be a problem.
