Google's "Manifest V2" Chrome extension phaseout next month is expected to impact the original uBlock Origin extension, which still uses the V2 framework and has 37 million users (www.theregister.com)

The new MV3 architecture reflects Google’s avowed desire to make browser extensions more performant, private, and secure. But the internet giant’s attempt to do so has been bitterly contested by makers of privacy-protecting and content-blocking extensions, who have argued that the Chocolate Factory’s new software...

We recommend Mullvad Browser if you are focused on strong privacy protections and anti-fingerprinting out of the box, Firefox for casual internet browsers looking for a good alternative to Google Chrome, and Brave if you need Chromium browser compatibility.

@privacytests has released a new category in its evaluations: 'DNS Privacy Tests'. Most browsers fail to encrypt DNS queries, leaving user data exposed in many countries - exceptions: @mullvadnet & @torproject

Again, both are Firefox-based.

Many VPN providers use dishonest marketing such as "unprotected" and "complete anonymity".
@protonvpn, @mullvadnet and @ivpn are superior in this regard.
Also, this site is helpful when considering whether you really need a VPN.

It has already been possible to change an 's default web browser through the "Settings" app since iOS 14.

has a March 6 legal deadline to introduce app sideloading in the European Union in order to comply with the Digital Markets Act , and iOS 17.4 will add support for this. will allow Apple users to download apps outside of the App Store, but the change will be limited to customers in the EU.

Now is an opportunity to improve your web experience… and your safety…

What's the best approach here? Create a custom rule every time in AdGuard? Report it somewhere (e.g. one of NextDNS lists)? "Accept all" hoping that my protections will shield me from all theses trackers?

Please help 😔

Wondering whether the increased cost of doing a DNS lookup with DNS over TLS or DNS over HTTPS (DoT, DoH) compared to unencrypted DNS means it is safer to host a public recursive resolver.

For example I see provide public DoH and DoT servers [1] but no plain DNS, and I've been serving DoT for a while at dns.srcbeat.com too.

Let's be clear, the network ban on data centers is dumb, and not everyone is in a position to migrate away from Hetzner because one company made a stupid decision

This article outlines in great (but hopefully comprehensible) detail how you can use a provider like to circumvent the network ban and continue using your Hetzner server to host Plex

A full server configuration is provided!
