I drove 80 miles round-trip today with a friend to visit a plant nursery many people rave about.
I found only one native plant in the entire place (my friend said she also saw swamp milkweed), and I was horrified to find them selling Winter Creeper and Burning Bush, both of which are on the list of Top Invasive Plants in Missouri. Not to mention the fact that the Burning Bush look pretty pathetic for the price they are charging.

Race and racism are inescapable in this country, unfortunately. Living in Kansas City, a couple years ago I heard this story on our local #NPR station about the man who invented #CashewChicken. He was an #Immigrant from #China who fought during #WW2 in the #USArmy & faced literal #terrorism when he opened a restaurant in #Springfield#Missouri. Not a #War correspondent from #Canada, but interesting nonetheless.
BFD in #Missouri: GOP tried to rush a constitutional change to crack down on future ballot initiatives. Anticipated an #abortion rights measure this fall.
One of my favorite road signs in all of Missouri, seen heading west on Interstate 70 in St. Charles County.
I very seldom drive there, but when I do, I love to startle the rest of my family by saying "Look everyone, we're coming up to Bryan ..." then screaming "ROAD!" at the top of my lungs.
I'm not sure why they decided to make "ROAD" uppercase, but I am forever grateful.
