the #lightroom preview thing is so god damn sluggish since the last update ... back until cursor moves, only a few tiles for a few moments, this time it just remained grey for a while ... quality software right there.
Dear photographers using Adobe Lightroom, is there a way to search for photos based on the content of EXIF/IPTC fields that are not available in the metadata filters of the Library Filter bar?
I want to build a dynamic collection of images that don't have informations in the recently supported alternative text field, for accessibility.
I was playing around a bit with the new #Adobe#Photoshop beta this past weekend. It has the new AI Generative fill feature which basically lets you describe what you want, and then add and remove from the photo.
I am assuming they are using my #Photography to train the model. And that they'll use my photo to add things to other peoples photos.
This stuff is moving way too fast. Are they using my photo to train the model with the new #Lightroom denoise feature too? Probably.
Presets für #lightroom braucht man eigentlich nicht, aber diese hier sind mit viel Abstand die Besten! Ein Projekt, dass ich schon lange verfolge. Da lohnt jeder Cent. So viel Liebe! Schaut euch das gerne mal an. #theclassicpresets
(You wouldn't know it unless you looked very closely, but there was actually a student in this photo that I removed using Photoshop's Generative AI. #iImpressive.)
I have the feeling that #CaptureOne performances degrade over time. I’m not sure if this is planned obsolescence or some other weird interaction but I’m not happy with it, so I started testing #Lightroom again. I’m impressed by some of the cataloging functionality and its powerful masking, yet some other editing functionality is not as advanced as C1, for example colouring is leagues ahead in C1. Eventually, you can get to the same results with either, but I think I’ll stick with C1 for now…
what bugs me is that #lightroom preview and export often get moiré for my lowlight images. of course thats because i try to brighten things up alot ... however these effects are never visible while developing the images. its only after the fact that i get greeted by this. and no, i dont sharpen on export and rarely sharpen more than 50 #photography
Walking my dog last night and thought the full moon looked a little lopsided. Turns out it was grazing the edge of the Earth’s shadow- I’d completely forgotten about the penumbral lunar eclipse!
(Also a shout-out to the #lightroom app’s camera- this was first time I’ve ever been able to get a properly exposed picture of the moon from my iPhone)
My big realization yesterday is that I can ditch #macos for #linux if I can replace #lightroom , and #darktable seems like a great candidate. I've been using a #FrameworkLaptop running #ubuntu at work and it feels much better for building software than #macos.
Yay, Lightroom now has camera profiles for Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro cameras. This means I can edit with the Adobe Color profile, which I vastly prefer to the hazy Google Pixel profile for raw shots. Still no lens corrections for distortion and vignetting, though.
The #GPS View Direction editor in #NeoFinder 8.5 now shows a real map of the #GeoTag location, to make it easier for you to set up the correct view direction of the camera when the photo was taken.
Sun in clouds and haze over the San Ysidro Mountains, Anza Borrego Desert State Park, California; March 2024.
