Hey geeks. I have a spare laptop and I want to use it for a #Kodi server for my TV and a TNFS server for #atari#fujinet. Should I be running Windows 10 or Ubuntu on it? It has Windows loaded now but I'm willing to switch OSes if it brings me better performance or ease of installation.
Nutzt irgendwer von Euch #Kodi und auf welcher Hardware habt Ihr es laufen? Bisher habe ich Kodi auf einem #Raspberry laufen gehabt, leider sind mir schon zwei abgeraucht (nicht übertaktet und Kühlung war auch ok). Deshalb bin ich am überlegen, ob ich mir so einen Mini-PC zulegen soll. Es soll auch nur Kodi darauf laufen und die Soundausgabe darf auch gerne gut sein.

I have always been a huge fan of #FOSS and run several #Linux machines including my #HomeLab media server running #Unraid. I prefer my TVs dumb with a #SBC attached running #kodi.
Kodi 21 "Omega" Alpha 1 is now available. It's the first build to use FFmpeg 6.0 for media playback, but that could bring some bugs so this is best for early adopters & testers. Also brings some improvmeents for Android, iOS, Linux, Mac, and Windows. https://kodi.tv/article/kodi-omega-alpha-1/

Je cherche des add-ons Kodi.tv pour trouver du contenu en français. En ce moment, je connais Magellan et france.tv pour la programmation en direct, ainsi que Duff You pour les contenus YouTube ; mais j'aimerais découvrir quelques applications pour regarder des programmes à la demande (films et séries principalement).

On my media center PC, I often switch between 60 Hz and 24 Hz refresh rate for perfectly smooth playback. Is there a way in either KDE Plasma (Wayland) or Kodi to switch refresh rates automatically or with some kind of quick widget? I currently use the settings menu every time.
Note: It's a media center PC connected to a TV, so I won't type terminal commands.

I need to figure out some way to control the media on my desktop when I'm across the room. Maybe with my phone? I know I can use #spotify for that but I also like to use #shortwave (the gnome frontend for radio-browser.info) and sometimes YouTube but I don't use an account for that. Also the occasional streaming service like ESPN+ or fanatiz for soccer. Maybe I could rig up something with #kodi and do like a remote start feature for it.
I mean I could also pry my ass off the couch but #cats.
