One thing all this space research ruined for me is the phrase "Moonshot" to mean research initiative. I recently read the phrase "fusion moonshot" and all I could think of was "spend a huge amount of money on fusion to find a way to technically make it work with no regard to whether it's economically viable." Like, the fusion equivalent of a Saturn V would be a gigantic 200B$ tokamak that works for about a week.

Finished re-watching #ForAllMankind and still got goosebumps. I still strongly dislike the whole Danny plot (especially in season three) and wished they did something else instead. But I'm looking forward to season four in autumn.

I'm watching #Silo on Apple TV. It's a dystopian sci-fi thriller based on a series of short stories by Hugh Howey about a community of thousands living in a giant underground silo hundreds of stories deep. Got some good talent.

Watching Season 3 of "For All Mankind" finally. The new important character that popped up is Dev Ayes. He's an eccentric light years ahead Silicon Valley billionaire who intends to get to Mars years before NASA, the Soviets (yes the USSR still exists in this show's universe), or anyone else. It is clearly the Musk archetype the media created before the present era. I'm curious if it plays out as a cautionary tale arc or a savior arc through the end. I get douche chills just watching this because of the Musk connotation in the same way I do with Tony Stark in Marvel movies. #ForAllMankind#SciFi#ElonMusk#space#AltHistory
