#RGPD https://eupolicy.social/@ilumium/112235832500838592

#AdTech#Privacy#Cookies#AdTargeting#DataProtection: "In a little-noticed change at the end of last year, thousands of websites started being more transparent about how many companies your data is being shared with. In November, those infuriating cookie pop-ups—which ask your permission to collect and share data—began sharing how many advertising “partners” each website is working with, giving a further glimpse of the sprawling advertising ecosystem. For many sites, it’s not pretty.
A WIRED analysis of the top 10,000 most popular websites shows that dozens of sites say they are sharing data with more than 1,000 companies, while thousands of other websites are sharing data with hundreds of firms. Quiz and puzzle website JetPunk tops the pile, listing 1,809 “partners” that may collect personal information, including “browsing behavior or unique IDs.”" https://www.wired.com/story/cookie-pop-up-ad-tech-partner-top-websites/
Crumbl Cookies first real cake cookie has arrived! It's their carrot cake cookie.
Taste is really good. It's a cold cake/cookie and the texture of the cake is really good. Icing isn't too sweet either. There are pecans on the top of the icing.
In the box are lemon crinkle cookie, sugar cookie with candy eggs and a strawberry pretzel pie cookie.

I don't use an #AdBlocker. I haven't used an ad blocker in a decade or more. I see plenty of ads on the web. What I do is block third-party #cookies and known cross-site #trackers. The number of sites (even apparently legitimate sites) that implore me to disable my ad blocker is disappointing.
I'm having some low-energy high-appetite days. It's actually difficult not to feel like I'm doing something wrong by not forcing myself to work out and by not forcing myself to stop eating... 😬
Oh look it works again, thought when it wanted to access #X anonymously it didn't work anymore. Apparently it now works again like on #Twitter and you can distribute its anonym here in the #Fediverse over a #Nitter instance. It's more convenient to avoid the data collection frenzy of this #web recording for your #privacy.
🧵 …and that's why I use the plugins and tools mentioned above and don't use the internet unprotected:
