Golden-Mantled Ground Squirrel by Debra Martz A small squirrel like a chipmunk, with grayish-brown fur & 2 white stripes edged with black. I first saw one of these at Bryce Canyon, I thought it was a Chipmunk. When I started trying ID the variety, I discovered it was a squirrel. 4 years later I see another one, this time in New Mexico but I knew it was not a Chipmunk this time.
This is the view from under the Mackinac Bridge. The "Mighty Mac" is a suspension bridge that links Michigan's Upper and Lower Peninsula. It spans the Straits of Mackinac, a body of water that connects two of the Great Lakes - Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. The Bridge opened in 1957.
Horseshoe Bend is a breathtaking natural wonder located in northern #Arizona, USA. The Colorado River as it meanders has carved out this horseshoe shaped curve in the sandstone creating a breathtaking view from above and below. It is about 1000 feet from the desert floor to the surface of the river.
Sharing this mixed media painting I did of Martin Luther King Jr. one of the greatest civil rights leaders in the history of the United States! Happy Thursday:)
I see the blue sky behind the maple leaves, but when I showed the finished painting to my hubby, he said he sees the leaves floating on aqua blue water in a pond or pool.
What do you see?
How about some colorful red tulips to brighten up your Monday? (Part of my collection of artwork that hopefully looks like stained glass...not real stained glass!)

Long before there was Silicon Valley and all its technocratic adulation, there were trees and mountains, meadows and blue sky -- places of beauty nature invited us to be in and enjoy.
And long after technocracy fails, the trees and mountains and meadows will remain. Still beautiful. Still inviting us to be in them and enjoy.
