I've got an odd graphical problem and I need the advice of some experts.

I use this image as my wallpaper, and I absolutely love it:
https://unsplash.com/photos/purple-and-black-pyramid-wallpaper-k1bO_VTiZSs

BUT when I use i3lock/swaylock, it's off-center which is frustrating in a very way (see screenshot)

How would I go about cropping the image to make it centered? I mean, so that the little circular login indicator thingie is centered right on the innermost triangle?

Now that I'm spending more time on Mastodon, I'm realizing I don't follow enough people. Many of them are inactive accounts.

My feed is running dry rather quickly.

Who are some good people in the autistic and neurodivergent spaces to follow?

Everytime I stand in front of the door and frantically search for the keys in my bag, all that makes me panic, pushes me to the verge of tears - even though it is not such a big deal because I’m not in a hurry and if anything, the concierge has a spare pair.
So, naturally, my brain tries to compensate for a possible fail - and every time I walk home, I feel almost unbeatable urge to get my keys out of my bag to my hand when I am still like 200 meters from home.
I suppose, it’s the same overcompensation mechanism that makes me come to airport at least two hours before the departure and to a train station at least an hour before, buy spares of essentials each time a bottle starts feeling not full, or always have a stocked pantry(though there may be multiple of ones and none of others as I always forget to check what I have before going to the store)

Is this exaggerated(to the point of creating problems) ‘better safe than sorry’ something people are more prone to? Do you guys also do that?

I'm not a podcast person but if I was, I would totally be listening to ADHD: Women Exploring the Neuroverse by Rachael Massey. The podcast specifically focuses on late diagnosed women and they have some spectacular guests too.

If you love a podcast, especially if you're a late diagnosed #ADHD woman, do go check it out: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/adhd-women-neuroverse .

For all the ADHDers out there who are being shamed for storing clothes on chairs, allow me to introduce you to the idea of the “clothes horse”. A more respectable purpose-built piece of furniture. It’s not just for drying clothes!

If I get my Adderall through mail service instead of the local pharmacy it saves me $25 per month. BUT they won't fill it until I run out & processing & shipping is slow unless you pay extra (even then it is not next day) so I end up being out of it for a week+. Because it is a controlled substance it also requires a signature so unless I happen to be home when the no tracking package comes I have to drive further than my pharmacy to pick it up. American healthcare can just fuck right off. #adhd

drahardja, to windows
@drahardja@sfba.social avatar

So it seems that what #Windows #MicrosoftRecall does is take screenshots, sorts windows by application, then runs each window through an image-to-text model and logs its contents, capturing text, web domain information, and the topic of the content. This information is then logged in a searchable local database.

This has to be combined with some way to get back to the content, right? So if I searched for a topic in the future, Windows has to be able to restore the app and the document that you were viewing. So there has to be some URL or file path associated with each window content.

I know people are freaked out about this feature, but I think it’s basically Spotlight on steroids. I’m actually not that freaked out about it if it’s local-only, and I think this can actually be useful for someone with #ADHD like me who loses content all the time.

The real questions: what privacy-protection mechanisms are present, who gets to access to this data, how easily it can be exfiltrated?

Do you also have to feeling MPH hides your sickness' symptom? When I'm sick, if I take Ritalin at 8AM I feel less sick between 9AM and 5PM. I wouldn't be surprized it has that effect, it's a stimulant and adrenalin does the same. #adhd

#tdah

Slightly bugged dwelling on #ADHD vs. #AuDHD, particularly with my experiences. I feel like a lot of non-medical #Autism resources lump ADHD symptoms and expereinces in with Autism ones, for good reason as a majority of Autis have ADHD, but now my impostor syndrome has gone "Oh I may be Autistic only" to "Oh I may be AuDHD" to "Oh I may be ADHD only" and it's really confusing!

Someone said that what a neurodivergent views as CONTEXT,
a neurotypical will usually view as an excuse,
and when I tell y'all this hits me SO HARD 😫

"You're just not working hard enough"
"You're just not paying close enough attention"
"You're just lazy"
"You're just not very thoughtful"
"You're just not respectful of other people's time"
"You're just selfish"
"...SO STOP MAKING EXCUSES!"

And all the while, I'm just trying to provide context on how I got from A to G

I really want to make a career in the field. Security is my passion. I haven't yet decided which role I'd like to get involved in. All I know so far is that Malware Analysis isn't for me. I'm interested to hear from folks in the field who are , have , or both. What roles have been a good fit for you? I'm guessing that Incident Response would be far too high stress, but I could be wrong about that. Boosts appreciated.

In your experience, would UX from the 2nd link distract, overstimulate or bother you in a way that represents an #accessibility issue?

Note: I'm not the one proposing this, I'm not even affected. I ask for the sake of others; polling for statistical sample size.
