'Public restrooms in the city are hard to find and are often either out of order or require you to buy something at a store or café to be able to use. The problem is so bad that individuals have created their own resources for finding public restrooms.
A new Google Maps layer introduced by the city attempts to tackle this issue.'
Visiting the museum of natural history makes me wish public parks had T-rex or Allosaurus, or some other similar dinosaur skeletons on permanent display so kids and just people in general can study them casually and frequently. I know it would be a maintenance nightmare, but it would be so cool.
They're converting parts of the Hoboken Terminal station into a sort of "Chelsea Market"-style bazaar and… HOLY SHIT… this beautiful space has been sitting empty for decades.
I'm excited for it, but I'm also ANGRY that this is just sitting these collecting mold.
@auran recommended this show and instructed me to go in blind, so I did. Amy, who accompanied, chose to read a review.
I was curious why the ticket-site seat-picker showed the front row sold out, but then people seemed to choose seats as far from the stage as possible, while avoiding the center aisle. How odd! I happily bought two tickets for fourth row, center. Amy, knowing what this portended, said nothing.
Even though I'm not really sure what just happened, I'll never forget it.
as @IveyJanette reminds us, #Trump wants to hold a fundraiser rally at Madison Square Garden; so here's A NIGH AT THE GARDEN, a short documentary made entirely with archival footage from the night #Nazis held a rally at #MSG in 1939.
you will notice then, just like today, cops protecting the Nazis from protesters; including ISADORE GREENBAUM, a courageous Jewish man who stormed the stage in protest.
"If the jury deliberating in Donald Trump's criminal trial makes the historic decision to convict him, the judge overseeing the case will face a monumental choice: whether to sentence the 2024 Republican presidential candidate to time behind bars."
If the governor is committed to keeping (&funding) the National Guard in the #NYC subways because she thinks it "makes people feel better," maybe someone could tell her how great funding our libraries would make us feel. More bang for the buck in weekend library hours, if you ask me.
I first saw BLOB DYLAN graffiti when I visited Bushwick, Brooklyn, in January 2021. Despite being a life-long resident of Brooklyn, that was only the second time I had been to Bushwick. I did not see any more BLOB DYLAN's prior to May 26, 2024, when I crossed into Bushwick for the third time. I was on about mile 18 of what would end up being a 22.6 mile walk, but that did not stop me from documenting my first BLOB in more than three years.
(Note: I was not 100% sure whether this was in Bushwick or Ridgewood until I checked a map. Fortunately, I made note of the fact I found BLOB at the intersection of Wycoff and DeKalb Avenues.)
Cool, cool. End of August. Sure, no rush, bike lanes don't need protection or anything.
(#NYC's 311 has entries allowing you to report multiple types of 'illegal' games, but nothing for reporting any kind of unsafe bike lane situation. So you just send a generic comment to #NYCDOT Queens commissioner, which may get answered eventually..) #BikeNYC
