St. Paul schools turn towards geothermal energy as Minnesota‘s climate shifts
And if students are uncomfortable, it’s difficult to focus on learning. A high school on the East Side of Saint Paul is wrapping up its first year with a new heating and cooling system that draws energy from the ground
Gotta watch out for those river sharks, they’re a known menace in Fergus Falls. I’m guessing this was painted in the fall when the river would have been much lower.
To this day, the 1862 hangings of 38 Dakota men in Mankato, Minnesota is still the largest public execution in US history.
I talked to descendants of the hanged Dakota men for a news feature I produced back in the 1990s. The memories carried in the Dakota oral traditions were so vivid that these people spoke of the executions as though they had happened days ago, not in the 19th century.
The work on the park in Pelican Rapids appears to be complete. The dam replaced by rapids, Pelican Pete freshly painted, a new pedestrian bridge across river, and the former bottom of Mill Pond now grassy instead of muddy.
@lwbadger Thats quite an improvement. A friend of mine on the watershed board said that this was a major step toward restoring trout and sturgeon on the Ottertail river. And Pete isn't all rusty anymore.
"Last Saturday, the Minnesota Republican Party formally endorsed Royce White, a former NBA basketball player, to be the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate."
As Judd Legum and Tesnim Zekeria report, White wrote in 2022 that "many of the Jewish people have lost their faith in a loving God," and their faith has been replaced by "materialism."

In 2023, White stated In July 2023, White lamented that “women have become too mouthy.” He has stated that “[t]he LGBTQ movement is the brainchild of radical feminists and their cucked men.”
NEW: #Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) signs a package of pro-voter bills into law — including the Minnesota Voting Rights Act — to protect ballot access after the 8th Circuit gutted private enforcement of the federal Voting Rights Act in the state.
The temperature is a glorious 54°F/12°C outside and #Minnesota is heavenly in the springtime. We left all the windows open last night and everything is crisp and cool this morning. We’ll keep it open until the storms arrive this evening.
Article 13, Section 7 of the Minnesota Constitution states
“No license required to peddle.
Any person may sell or peddle the products of the farm or garden occupied and cultivated by him without obtaining a license therefor.“
Because of this wording a group of Minnesotans is arguing the state constitution allows them to sell their home-grown marijuana — they’re legally growing — without a sales license and are asking a judge to weigh in.
