The wonderfully triangular Caerlaverock Castle and its inner moat. Drystone today in a rather lush garden. Working on a retaining wall built from Yorkshire sandstone. Building on a curve with really straight edged stone is always a challenge. As is my mosquito/midge allergy during Scottish summers.
The basic principle of a retaining wall is that the wall's depth should be roughly the same as its height. So a 1m high wall extends back 1m into whatever it is retaining.
Whether or not you support independence for Scotland, you must surely support the principle of democratic choice. In which case every person in Scotland meeting a prospective MP or their campaigners from whichever party must ask them these three simple questions.

Of the parties around we know at least 3 are only interested in maintaining a presence in Westminster, which precludes giving a toss about issues in any of the countries with local assemblies.
We need to work more together with those same countries as we share the same issues nationally.
We need to go on doing what we have been - support parties that take independence seriously.
Finally we also need to focus on alternatives to the UK media, getting fact checked information is essential imo.

Imagine this was an action movie, where a tiny number of psychopaths were systematically destroying the Earth, not even for good and services, but simply to win a meaningless numerical game called The Money. These psychopaths control pretty well everything, so anyone opposing them gets crushed in horrible ways.
