I just noticed that I have been on urusai for a little over a year. I really enjoy this instance and the people on it. It has led to my best social media experience ever. Thank you all and thanks to @neatchee for keeping this up!
@weebdeluxe I'm so happy to hear this <3 Truly, this makes me smile :) My hope has always been that this can be a positive, welcoming home for people who don't feel comfortable, safe, or at-home in many of the other places where folks with our interests gather. To hear that it has fostered a positive experience for folks is just awesome ^_^
Writing a horror novella with a romance subplot made me realize... I haven't read any modern romance novels! Need to expand my horizon so I am super open to recommendations!
I finished Kirby Triple Deluxe! It's a great Kirby game and one of the best platformers for the system. Got to 57% completion, so there would be enough to discover, but I think I'll switch to a different game now. Over half of the 30 days of 3DS challenge is now done!
One great plus of the 30 days of 3DS challenge has been that I get to know so many more awesome people here! It's a lot of fun to talk and discuss with you all!
Played a lot of Kirby Triple Deluxe. It's a very strong entry with some very varied leveldesign, neat little puzzles and challenging bossfights. Collectibles can be well hidden, so I missed a couple. That makes returning to the game later on more interesting though.
I'm not a completionist by any measure, but giving me a good reason to revisit a stage is always a good thing in my book.
I'll probably finish this one for my 30 days of 3DS challenge!
@jake4480@weebdeluxe I never really played the SNES or GBA games. Should at least hook up my SNES mini to play some of those. They still look awesome though.
It's funny how Kirby games are for the most part very easy (a bit too easy at times) but when you reach the final boss or if there's post game content the difficulty spikes!
@Htbaa@weebdeluxe 🤣 they are awesome and that is TRUE - deceptively simple at first and then that SPIKE! I forgot 64 too, that sword in that one, can't get enough. And the MUSIC 🤯
@weebdeluxe I think a lot of people are having this thought, I mean.. this LLM nonsense is an ultra fad. It's not making money, it's actually LOSING money, I don't know where it will evolve but it's not gonna be this forever. It'll be strange to see where it goes. But I've always written since I was a teen and I'll always write, apparently, those robots can't stop me. 🤣
I have begun to take my 3DS with me for my walks. Not just to collect playcoins but also in the hope of maybe, just maybe getting a streetpass. Chances are slim, granted. Very few people these days still use their 3DSes... and even less people put the wifi on. However, I am missing a single puzzle piece and I really want to get that one!
@weebdeluxe I was recently selling at a flea market, and on a whim I wrote out "3DS STREETPASS HERE!" on a piece of printer paper and taped it up above my tables.
I had people photographing the sign, messaging friends about it, and pulling their 2DS or 3DS out of bags in order to turn on the WiFi. Got 5 new StreetPasses that day.
I think a lot of people still have their devices, they just need a reminder.
@miu@weebdeluxe yep. This is the best way. How I've found so much on here. I follow about 20 hashtags, games I love etc, and sometimes you'll find bots that post a lot of cool stuff - I found a retro gaming bot that posts all kinds of cool folks. I think I found you via the #3DS tag!
@weebdeluxe ha! Oh wow. My son is 17 now and totally hooked on the manga and anime - I helped a little, to a small extent, I showed him Cowboy Bebop recently plus got him into Death Note and he told me he recently saw FLCL too and loved it. He's into so many of em.
But that said, you're doing the important work of going through those 3DS games. Hahaha
I don't get people using mastodon and having zero infos on their profile and then trying to follow me. Why should I let you follow me? What kind of replies could I get from you? Feels unsafe and bad. Do not try to follow me if you think it unnecessary to give me any kind of info about yourself, your vibes etc.
Day 3 of my 30 days of 3DS challenge: Space Invaders Extreme is very fun. Also crushingly difficult, completely nuking me in stage 4. I doubt I'll give that one another go.
Kirby Mouse Attack is quite fun though. Might play that one more.
I decided to challenge myself and only play my 3DS for 30 days.
So today I gave Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D a first and last try. While the game is decent fun, it's way too intense for me thanks to the time limits. Still, it's very impressive what they managed to cram in here, even if animations frames at 5 meters get super choppy so the framerate overall is able to keep up.
