I feel a bit stuck in my reading. The cosy mysteries and fantasies are becoming a bit boring. (Just read a few to many one after another) But my brain is unwilling to process harder SFF or litfic. Nothing on my tbr really appeals. Anyone have ideas for genres I could try? @bookstodonmy@boeken#bookstodon#books#reading
@Knien@bookstodonmy@boeken What about historical fiction? The historical novels from Ken Follett are a nice and easy read, the whalebone theatre from Joanna Quinn is a beautiful book in this genre.
I’m nearing the end of a book & it’s one of those instances where I’m simply not ready to say goodbye to the complex set of characters I’ve come to know.
Oh well. I suppose that’s a sign of great storytelling. 📚 #books#reading
Writing a horror novella with a romance subplot made me realize... I haven't read any modern romance novels! Need to expand my horizon so I am super open to recommendations!
"The pile beside my bed never shrinks; at the bottom of the stack are books I've been planning to crack open for months. My shelves remain full of lingering aspirations," writes the Walrus's Michelle Cyca. She looks at the problem of unread books, and the difficulty in offloading our libraries. What do you do with your unwanted books?
@CultureDesk@bookstodon I get most books from the library and I donate a lot of books to charityshops and mini libraries. I keep the books I someday want to read again and/or want to lend out to friends and family.
📚🔭 I'm about to be on Science Friday talking about the end of the Universe! The interview (which was recorded in 2020) airs in about 10 minutes, around 3:40pm Eastern. And my book is the SciFri Book Club pick for April! More info / listen here: https://www.sciencefriday.com/sf-books/the-end-of-everything/
@AstroKatie We listened to your book in our car on our familyholiday in France and we loved it! Our son used it for his own podcast (high school assignment).
