@sanjaymenon The title confused me then… I thought it’s about how you monitor things in your homelab with a setup guide and examples.
Don’t want to sound rude but I don’t understand what’s the point of this post then. How to install portainer/uptime kuma is covered by their official publishers.
I just received my new work laptop (#Apple#Macbook Pro M3, ~€2000) just to discover that it does not support dual-monitor output despite having multiple video ports.
For a feature that even the cheapest laptops (and older MacBooks) have had for years, Apple now asks you to buy the MacBook Pro M3 Pro (€2500) or M3 Max (€4000).
This is essentially €2000 #ewaste. Not so "pro" after all.
@tuxdevices I agree this is stupid but it’s like that since the M1 years ago. Also I thought the new m3 can do 2 displays when the lid is closed? pretty sure I read about it a few weeks ago…
A few weeks ago I bought a terramaster NAS (because it was the only device you could install other OSes like proxmox or truenas on it) and now UGREEN published a kickstarter with their new NASes which can do the same but are much newer in terms of hardware…
@simon Yeah I thought about that too but on the other hand green not delivering to backers would kill the whole company...
The terramaster nas I'm talking about (F2-423) has an intel N5095 x64 processor in it.
Improved drag 'n drop in automations, the proximity of persons, custom Assist responses, export your data, Zigbee firmware updates, Matter diagnostics and actions, icons everywhere, and much more!
@fatboy Already tried Orion and would love to use it but for some reason I cannot use duckduckgo with it because it has insane loading times. Both on iOS and macos. I really don’t get it.
@kev After reading your blog post I decided to clean up my phone as well. Homescreen looks like yours now, had way to much clutter. Probably should completely start from scratch but that’s too much of an hassle right now…
@christianselig This will cut my screentime in half… Thanks I guess?
Jokes aside, thanks for this amazing app and only the best for the future christian 🫡
Successfully installed netdata on my proxmox homelab host for monitoring. Thought I wouldnt need monitoring with notifications but yesterday I looked at the host stats and the cpu usage spiked a few days ago... Took me a while to figure out but the issue was one vm ran out of disk space because of influxdb...
Now I get a notification via telegram if something is wrong - Nice!
@thomas@SkyfaR@milan He hosts a public instance right?
I‘m thinking about setting up a personal one at home to get all my messengers combined. Beeper does it the easy way (and free since a few days) but I don’t want my messages on another server (and as far as I understand not e2e encrypted).
Under the hood the use matrix and bridges so why not do it myself.
