Does mastodon or any other #fediverse platform support post through SMS? It would be useful in situations where internet connectivity is down like during the recent rains in chennai.

@natbas SMS has characters limit. Authentication is not possible.

We have to ask to increase limits of SMS .

My friend's kid called 911 on seeing dad fights with mom.

The price for that call is 15,000 CAD , criminal case for domestic violence, 6+ months of separation.

Happened to my friend this week.

We sometimes use libre office to create ebooks for FreeTamilEbooks.com

Works fine too, but need more patience to fix any formatting issues.

When the book has more tables, images, poems the more time it takes.

Then we switched to markdown, latex based workflow, which gave good automation and saves time.

It all depends on where we want to spend our time. A geeky way or to play around a ui way.

“The reason most public transportation is seen as ‘losing’ money is precisely because it charges for trips. If you don't charge fares, suddenly it can't ‘lose’ money. It just costs money, the same as the roads.”

This random comment has given me my new favourite argument for removing fares from public transit.
