@christianselig How did we not talk about this in Chicago? I just got the Bellroy Venture Ready, and I'm loving it (DDS was my first use that included a flight) and I think it meets most of your requirements (no stowable backpack straps or compression straps).

Edit: a link would be useful: https://bellroy.com/products/venture-ready-pack (Also, on further review, it's 26L, so small for what you're looking for. But I really love it.)

Iโ€™ve been somewhat in the know about Plinky, I tested some beta versions, and I spent a few days hanging out with Joe recently, and I'm only just learning about HOW MUCH Plinky is. Some devs (๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ) release apps, Joe just released an ecosystem. I can't wait to explore it more and you should to!

My heart is overflowing with a joy that I honestly haven't felt in a long time. Thank you so much Josh and Kari for the work, stress, and time you put in to make @DeepDishSwift happen for all of us.

The presentations gave me new perspectives and knowledge.

I got to see a new city, meet new friends, reconnect with old friends, spend time with people I've only briefly interacted with, and put a face to people with cartoon avatars ๐Ÿ˜‰.

I'm so glad that I went.

Meeting many of my Internet friends in person โ€“ especially the fellas โ€“ and making many new ones at Deep Dish Swift was one of the best experiences of my life. Iโ€™m tearing up a little typing this. Iโ€™ve avoided in-person developer communities ever since college; too self-serious for my taste. That mindset carried through to this community even though I know itโ€™s a self-selecting group of people that I have vibed with for a long time.

Not sure how well the short shotgun mic will work though. Thinking of picking up one of those wireless lav mics that are all the rage now. Any recommendations? (preferably cheap)
