Half my kingdom for a Signal client that works on ARM (and no, I'm hella not going to compile electron on my pinebook, get outta here, lol)

I've tried Axolotl via flatpak, but it just crashes on start with some kind of (oh gee) electron error.

@RL_Dane Question, does Waydroid work on ARM at all? I haven't used Waydroid in a bit so I'm unsure.

If Waydroid works you should be able to sideload the official Signal APK on it and presto, an ARM Signal client!

@bascule @matthew_d_green Genuine question here and please don't just call me naive. I have done research on Signal and I know it's the gold standard. Elon Musk not withstanding (I saw this from sources other than Musk) and did my research on Signal and where it gets its funding, who's to say it's not a Honeypot at this point?

The majority of its funding comes from the OTF who in turn gets the majority of its funding from the US Government.

For me, it's all about video games. I'm on the last boss fight in Horizon Forbidden West so hoping to knock that out and then possibly give Gray Zone a try and see what it's like.

Meeting is over and things went CONSIDERABLY better than I ever expected! So much more relaxed and not "corporate, by the book" stuff as I thought it might be.

Again, while I can't discuss specifics at this time, I was told by the lady doing the meeting, is that it is 10000% a YES from me!

Hopefully I'll have more details to share soon, but this was certainly a huge positive! Now to sit and wait for the HR formalities and legalities to get completed!

Can I get some GOOD VIBES my way today, please?

While I can't go into details publicly quite yet, I have a MAJOR work meeting at 1:30pm today with one of the Regional Vice Presidents of our company today. It's not a bad meeting, but it's a VERY IMPORTANT meeting in my career and I'm beyond nervous to say the least.

It's scheduled to be 45 minutes long, and I feel like this could be the longest 45 minutes of my life!

I've been playing Enshrouded and trying to 100% complete it. I'm currently at 97% but I think the last achievement is bugged.

Wife and I are heading to Walmart here shortly and we'll grab lunch while we are out and about.

Hardcase just made the distro hop from Manjaro GNOME to Ultramarine KDE, and it just keeps getting better. Wake from sleep is MUCH faster now, and everything feels more smooth and polished.

For people who don’t want to bother with manually adding repos and changing default settings to make Fedora more user-friendly, Ultramarine Linux is a great drop-in replacement. Definitely give it a try.

@RockyC @ultramarine Thanks to your post I gave Ultramarine a try, the GNOME spin specifically. So far so good! I mainly use straight vanilla Fedora Workstation but this is much better so far!

Hey all! Here's my #introduction post to allthingstech!

I'm Patrick. I live in Tennessee with my 4 awesome kiddos and amazing wife of 14 years. My hobby has always been computers and pretty much all forms of tech. I use Linux as a primary OS on my machines. As far as mobile phones go I've been an Android guy for as long as Android has been around, with short stints with Symbian (old school Nokia), iOS and Windows Phone in between.

I look forward to interacting with you all!

@cliffwade I mainly run Fedora Workstation as my Linux distro but I jump around. My main desktop rig is running Fedora Workstation 39 and my laptop is currently running Fedora 40 KDE (Rawhide) which is an under development release.
