I would advise everyone to fill out a new voter registration card, sign it, and take a picture of it with your signature before handing it back in. This will do a few things. One, if you're like most people you may not always sign things exactly the same. This way you will know how you signed and can remind yourself before elections or before filling out an absentee ballot.

Republicans are rejecting ballots if the signature is not exactly the same. You will be disenfranchised for nothing more than omitting your middle initial or some other stupid thing.

Second, if your registration gets "lost" or purged, you may need to be able to prove you did register to join a lawsuit or some such.

Keep a printed copy of it with your other important papers.

And check online a couple of times a year to he sure you're still registered.

Finally, push for your local govt to stop calling any elected positions "nonpartisan." There's no such thing anymore. It's just a way for MAGA to hide their party.

My biggest gripe, as someone who is living in Canada and paying taxes in Canada, is seeing how incredibly biased the #CBC is.

I've watched or listened to CBC news since the 90s. I've seen their coverage of Israel for decades, and now inside Canada I've seen their coverage of the war in Gaza, and I've seen their lack of coverage of #antisemitism .

They simply bury the issue of antisemitism, not covering stories of antisemitic attacks or policies, or they use scary air quotes when discussing it, such as "Jewish groups claim" or they couch antisemitism in terms of Israel's actions- which is itself an antisemitic trope.

Unlike even the Canadian postal service, Canada Post, the CBC is a direct arm of the Canadian government as a Crown Corporation, and yet it continues to directly and indirectly propagate antisemitism through biased reporting and or deliberate omissions in coverage.

It's one of the things I find most shameful about how my tax dollars are used here in #Canada.

I keep hearing people say AI generated text "will get better” as if that’s a known, accepted fact.

But it's not a known, accepted fact. Massive language model AI text generators have been around for YEARS, and they've always been this bad, this prone to lying, this full of shit. We’re just getting it shoved in our faces now.

“It will get better” is a bet, not a statement of fact, and I bet against it.
