For my business mail I am still using Google.. was planning on migrating off that, someday.

Now I got an e-mail notifying me of a 54% price increase for Google Workspace.
Immediately got myself a @protonmail subscription and will be migrating today...

Nice, we upgraded https://lemmy.world to 0.19.3 finally. Seems to all have worked nicely, no issues so far. I don't like the yellow/brown color of new comments in the default frontend, but luckily I prefer the Photon frontend which doesn't have that (https://p.lemmy.world)

OK so today I learned that with you shouldn't forget to run borg compact once in a while. I was wondering why my Mastodon backups took 16TB space...

Also looking into https://torsion.org/borgmatic which looks like a useful toolset around borgbackup. (This will do the compact for me automatically.. ;-) )

When people say “host your own server” to me I am going to start telling them to represent themselves in court. We all have different skill sets and the bar for entry should not be being a server admin or mastodon is doomed to fail. There is no meaningful growth as it is . I want to see it succeed but chastising me does not make it so

@wjmaggos @NoBeerToday @jonburr @aral @LALegault Then I think we need to rewrite the rule. I would need to discuss with the team, but what we i.m.o. want to accomplish with the rule is prevent supporting or promoting terrorism etc. Not discussing it.

Discussing 9-11 events is no problem, organizing/planning a new attack on our platform is.
