They're trying to solve some problem or get something done; make sure you know what that is, and that the path as clearly marked and well-lit as you can make it.

Turns out you can just buy tester canisters! They're just spray cans of Carbon Monoxide! That sounds... somewhat dangerous.

@Viss @joy sounds right. Sometimes they’ll post an exercise schedule. Eglin did for major exercises — like “we’re closing the highway for an amphib assault” kinds of stuff — but didn’t list the “We’re taking some birds out for practice” level.
