It’s horrible, but it will stay this way until we stop giving funding for minitanks for police departments and allocating those funds to community mental health care programs. #facts

Then I learned the dark side of nursing. I actually sat in a room with about a dozen nurses and listened to them degrade patients of color, the things they said were horrific. Talking about grown men and comparing them to babies because they are in pain. These are nurses who worked for major hospitals in Boston. It’s disgusting. These are human beings under your care at their most vulnerable.
I don’t know how I can help but to spread awareness and use my privilege to help raise their voices so they are heard as often as I can.

I just saw a very old thread about the CVS pharmacy website giving an error message about using a modern browser in response to unexpected user agent strings. The consensus is that’s a bad thing. I would otherwise agree, if not for running Infosec.exchange. I sort through a significant number of issues that turn out to be incompatibilities with older browsers that don’t support certain features. As a bonus, sometimes the person experiencing the issue sees errors in their browser console and accuses me of trying to hack them. I can’t imagine a website with 1000x the visitors, as CVS likely has.
I go to Las Vegas once or twice per year and I usually stay at Mandalay Bay. I have no other connection to that city. Yet I experience profound sadness there now, especially when looking out the hotel room window.

@spacerog I’m so sorry. Lewiston is a special place for so many people, I spent a ton of time up there when I was younger. Like most places north the sunrise was always really special.

At Disney World, the Magic Kingdom uses a system of pneumatic tubes to keep trash out of sight for park visitors. While this was supposed to be the future of waste disposal, only one other place in the US uses something like it on a similar scale: Roosevelt Island in New York City.

As for me, I replaced the crummy MDF floor trim in a bathroom that got damaged and replaced it with solid wood trim and got it all painted. I fixed my broken dishwasher (how did we live before YouTube?), debugged a bunch of nuisance issues with infosec.exchange most of which turned out to be crowdsec induced, set up a redundant streaming server for Infosec.exchange, and I got about half way done installing the matrix synapse server to help drive some automation and better alerting/visibility.

@mttaggart stupid question but have you tried loop ear plugs I live in them they are goddamned amazing. They take the edge off sound just enough and aren’t that expensive. It’s not muffed just reduced. Honestly it’s amazing.
